Jiri Prochazka recently added training with Shaolin monks into his already unconventional regimen. The MMA community has previously seen numerous unorthodox training methods from fighters over time. Yet, none seem to rival the level of intensity demonstrated by the former UFC light heavyweight champion.
Renowned for his commitment to achieving peak performance in fight preparation, 'Denisa' spares no effort in pushing his boundaries. In addition to his routine MMA training at Jetsaam Gym in Brno, Czech Republic, Prochazka often seeks solitude in the forest for isolated training sessions.
The 31-year-old Chech Republican recently took to Instagram to share photos and videos from his latest training sessions with Shaolin monks, who are touring for Kung Fu performances across different cities. In the footage, Prochazka was observed acquiring various techniques under the guidance of the monks.

'Denisa' recently secured a remarkable second-round stoppage win against Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 300 last month. The milestone event marked Prochazka's comeback to the octagon after experiencing his first defeat in the promotion against reigning 205-pound champion Alex Pereira at UFC 295 last November.
Why did Jiri Prochazka choose to spend three days in complete darkness?
Jiri Prochazka brings a singular approach to his fighting. His exceptional fighting style and behavior earned him the nickname 'The Czech Samurai' during his early tenure in Japan under the RIZIN promotion.
However, it's not just Prochazka's fighting technique that sets him apart. Following his triumph over Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 in 2022 to secure the light heavyweight title, 'Denisa' revealed an unorthodox training routine, which involved spending three days in complete darkness without food and without any sense of time, aimed at enhancing his mental resilience through sensory deprivation.
'Denisa' recently disclosed on social media that he has once again undergone a similar exercise and hinted at preparing for a potential upcoming fight.
