ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama might be the greatest striker of the modern age whom you've never heard of. The great Thai legend stands alongside some of the very best in the sport's history and is now slowly entering the mainstream consciousness thanks to ONE Championship.
The Asian martial arts organization has been heavily featuring Nong-O Hama in their US broadcast, namely their ONE Fight Night events on Prime Video. Ahead of Nong-O's eighth straight defense of his ONE world title at ONE Fight Night 9, ONE reuploaded his ONE debut on YouTube.
The bout took place in April 2018 at ONE: Heroes of Honor against multi-time world champion Fabio Pinca. As if it wasn't hard enough to debut in an organization by facing a multi-time world champion, it was also Nong-O's first fight in three years. He famously walked away from competitive fighting to focus on teaching back in 2015.

Still, Nong-O Hama made it look like he never left as he outclassed Pinca on all fronts. It was a masterful display of kickboxing as the Thai icon schooled his French opponent in all three rounds. Nong-O's counter striking, distance control, ring generalship, and technical precision were worth studying that night.

After beating Pinca, Nong-O Hama went on a legendary 10-fight unbeaten run in ONE Championship, capturing their bantamweight Muay Thai belt and defending it seven straight times in the process.
On April 21, the Sakon Nakhon native will look to defend his throne against former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty, who is moving up in weight to challenge for a second world title.
Jonathan Haggerty is on a four-fight win streak and is looking to conquer a new weight class after losing his flyweight world title to Rodtang Jitmuangnon three years ago. ONE Fight Night 9 will be available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
