Colby Covington is a professional mixed martial artist who competes in the welterweight division and is signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Colby Covington joined the Iowa Central Community College for a wrestling program and started competing as a wrestler. He won the 165-pound state championship in 2006 and after his win, he transferred to the wrestling program to the University of Iowa. A DUI incident resulting in his arrest led him to Oregon State University.
While at the Oregon State University, Colby Covington qualified for the NCAA tournament as a junior and then as a senior. Colby Covington completed his studies and is a certified graduate in bachelor’s of arts in sociology in 2011.
