Colby Covington, popularly known as “Chaos” is an American welterweight division MMA fighter for the UFC. Hailing from Springfield, Oregon, United States, Covington started his journey as a wrestler before switching to MMA full time. His debut in the UFC came at UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Le on August 23, 2014, where he faced and defeated Anying Wang by KO/TKO in Round 1. Since then, he has only grown as a fighter and has made remarkable progress inside the Octagon.

Colby Covington has won Fight of the Night twice in his UFC career so far. He is also a one-time former interim UFC welterweight champion. The self-described “super villain” of the UFC has grown into one of the most admired fighters inside the Octagon. Covington presently holds a MMA record of 17-4-0. He won 17 fights (4 by KO/TKO, 4 by submission, and 9 by decision) and lost 4 fights (1 by KO/TKO, 1 by submission, and 2 by decision). Covington will now face Joaquin Buckley on December 14, 2024, at UFC on ESPN: Covington vs. Buckley.

He eventually defeated Dos Anjos via unanimous decision in 5 minutes of Round 5. With this, Covington became the interim UFC Welterweight Champion. Unfortunately, he had to later relinquish his title due to a nasal injury.

Colby “Chaos” Covington locked horns with Kamaru “The Nigerian Nightmare” Usman at UFC 245: Usman vs Covington on December 14, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. This bout was again for the UFC Welterweight Championship. Covington landed 2 knockdowns and 143 strikes on Usman throughout the fight. Unfortunately, Usman defeated him with KO/TKO by a punch in 4 minutes and 10 seconds of Round 5. Nevertheless, Covington got his first Fight of the Night bonus for the fight.

Colby “Chaos” Covington faced Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal at UFC 272: Covington vs. Masvidal on March 5, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Throughout the fight, Covington attacked Masvidal with 94 strikes, 6 takedowns, and 1 submission. In the end, he defeated Masvidal via unanimous decision in 5 minutes of Round 5. He earned his second Fight of the Night bonus for this fight.
