Leon Edwards is a British mixed martial artist who fights in the welterweight division as a professional. He is currently signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and has competed in Fight UK MMA and BAMMA before joining the UFC. Leon Edwards briefly competed as an amateur when he started his mixed martial arts practice and eventually turned professional in 2011.

Leon Edwards locked horns with Damina Zlotnicki at Fight UK MMA: Fight UK 4 on June 5, 2011. He defeated him by first-round TKO (punches) and took off to a winning start as a professional mixed martial artist. Leon Edwards won his next fight and experienced the first loss of his professional career against Delroy McDowell at Fight UK MMA: Fight UK 6 in his third professional bout by disqualification (illegal knee).

Leon Edwards recovered from the loss and went rampaging with a six-fight winning streak to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He squared off against Claudio Silva in his debut showdown for the coveted mixed martial arts promotion at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Saint Preux on November 8, 2014. He lost the bout via a split decision. He won two consecutive fights in his next two outings to the Octagon before losing another fight at UFC Fight Night: UFC on Fox: Dos Anjos vs. Cowboy 2 on December 15, 2015. Leon Edwards cruises on a strong winning streak of 13 fights in the UFC. In the build-up to his unassailable run, he won the welterweight title and has defended it twice as of July 2024.
