There have been many memorable finishes in the UFC in recent years, and Ryan Spann's submission win over Ion Cutelaba was among them.
The light heavyweight clash took place at UFC Vegas 54 in 2022 and saw a wild exchange prior to the finish. At the time, 'Superman' was coming off a submission loss to Anthony 'Lionheart' Smith and was looking to bounce back.
Reddit user MeSmeshFruit recently uploaded a video of the final sequence of the bout, which showed Cutelaba in top control before Spann managed to break free. The Maldovan proceeded to swing wildly in hopes of dropping him for a knockout win, but the Memphis native turned the tables on him and submitted him with a perfectly executed guillotine choke.

The impressive first round submission win earned Ryan Spann a post-fight bonus for Performance of the Night. His win also served as a confidence booster as he followed that up with a first round knockout win over former title challenger Dominick Reyes.
When is Ryan Spann's next bout?
After a lengthy layoff, Ryan Spann will make his octagon return at UFC on ESPN 55, which is scheduled to take place on April 27.
Spann will be in for a tough matchup as he takes on Bogdan Guskov in the co-main event. The 31-year-old will be competing inside the octagon for only the third time and is 1-1 since joining the UFC.
Guskov is coming off a first round knockout win over Zac Pauga this past February. Meanwhile, Spann last competed at UFC Fight Night 225 this past August, where he lost a hard fought split decision to Anthony 'Lionheart' Smith.
It will be interesting to see what transpires in the light heavyweight clash, as it doesn't appear as though the bout is destined to go the distance. All 15 of Guskov's career wins have come via stoppage, while 18 of Spann's 21 career wins have come via stoppage.
