Mike' Proper' Malott competes in the welterweight division of the UFC. Malott's road to the Ultimate Fighting Championship has not been easy. He competed in numerous promotions, big and small, before earning his contract in the UFC.

He started his professional career in 2011 at Extreme Cage Combat(ECC) promotion and won the bout via an armbar submission in the first round. The other fighting promotions Malott has competed in include WSOF, SCC, XFFC, Bellator, and finally, UFC in 2022.

In the first round, Malott started in an orthodox stance, while Fugitt was in southpaw. Malott landed a significant body kick early in the round, causing visible damage to Fugitt. Despite Fugitt's efforts to recover, Malott continued to find effective striking opportunities. Fugitt attempted a takedown, but Malott defended and executed a lateral drop, gaining top position in half-guard.

The round ended with Fugitt working from full guard after Malott stood up. Malott maintained control and scored points with effective strikes. In the second round, Fugitt initiated the action, but Malott responded with powerful strikes, including a powerful right-left combination that dropped Fugitt. Seizing the opportunity, Malott capitalized on Fugitt's compromised position, securing a guillotine choke for the submission victory at 1:06 of the second round.
