In the second round, Fugitt initiated the action, but Malott responded with powerful strikes, including a powerful right-left combination that dropped Fugitt. Seizing the opportunity, Malott capitalized on Fugitt's compromised position, securing a guillotine choke for the submission victory at 1:06 of the second round.
