Adams began to show fatigue by the seventh round as Bohachuk relentlessly pursued him. Bohachuk's aggression continued into the eighth, but Adams turned the tide with a powerful left hook, securing a stoppage win two minutes and 47 seconds into the eighth round.

Bohachuk suffered his second professional boxing defeat against Vergil Ortiz Jr. on August 10, 2024. After 12 rounds of closely contested fighting Ortiz Jr. clinched the victory, becoming the new holder of the WBC interim super welterweight title.
