War Thunder is a free-to-play military vehicle combat MMO that features over 2,000 historically accurate vehicles from pre-World War Two to the modern era. As expected, the game has numerous features that enhance the gameplay experience. Features like research boosters and no currency loss for premium players make the grind much easier.
While not all of these features were present in the game from the beginning, some other things could be included to make it even better. In this article, we discuss some features that should be introduced to War Thunder in 2025.

War Thunder: Four features that should be introduced
1) Increasing the number of bannable maps
As we all know, the map rotation in War Thunder is not the best. Even though numerous maps are available in the game, you might often get stuck on one map for several matches in a row.
For example, maps like Vietnam and Battle for Vietnam in Air Realistic Battles are way too large for subsonic planes. Getting stuck there for a few matches in a row can be very frustrating as it takes a lot of time to even reach the enemies. On the other hand, certain maps in Ground Battles are unsuitable for various vehicles.
That is why there should be an option to ban more than one map. At least two or three. There are numerous maps in the game, and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of players queuing for matches at any given time. So, banning a couple should not affect matchmaking too much.
If banning more maps would cause serious problems in matchmaking, then better map rotation should be implemented.

2) Reducing the cost of premium vehicles in the Gaijin Store
Premium vehicle prices have steadily increased in the last couple of years. As more and more higher-tier vehicles have been added, their prices have also increased.
Prices have gone up to $70 and $80 — too expensive for just one vehicle. You can buy brand-new games for that price. Not every player can afford a virtual vehicle with so much money.
Prices should be capped at $50-$60 at most to make it more affordable.

3) Historical matchmaking
Historical Battles used to be one of the features of War Thunder some years ago. However, they were removed to make the matchmaker even. In such matches, the Axis teams usually had an advantage over the Allied ones.
However, with the addition of more vehicles in the few previous updates, the teams are currently more or less evenly matched. As a result, Historical matchmaking is much more plausible now, and it could act as its own game mode.
4) Reduction of RP costs for high-tier vehicles
The RP cost of high-tier vehicles is a lot for players who do not have a premium account or premium vehicles. Although you can get more RP in Air Battles, the amount of RP you get in Ground Battles is very low.
So, the RP cost of vehicles should either be lowered, or better RP rewards should be given after a match. Although some changes have been made so that players can get more RP, even better changes should be introduced.
