Brave weapons have been an important addition to Destiny 2 right before the release of The Final Shape. The diverse arsenal of Brave weapons in the shooter include gear pieces from the distant past, alongside powerful weapons from endgame activities that are tricky to get by standard means. It is the perfect gateway to gearing for both beginners and veterans.
Now, Brave weapons can be attuned from Zavala for free and acquired by running the Onslaught activity via the Vanguard node. For those unfamiliar with the attunement feature, it allows a weapon of choice to have a higher drop rate from Onslaught loot chests.
This article lists five different weapons worth attuning and pursuing in Destiny 2.
Disclaimer: This article is based on the writer's opinion. Note that all weapons in the Brave arsenal are meant to benefit beginner players. The following list is based more on the perks each provides, and some weapons have been left out keeping better alternatives in mind.
Mountaintop and other Brave weapons to attune in Destiny 2 (ranked)
5) Falling Guillotine
The re-issued Falling Guillotine in Destiny 2's Brave arsenal came with several new perks that instantly made it more potent than its previous version. The Vortex Framed Void Heavy weapon is now one of the primary choices against ground bosses in endgame activities, solely due to one specific perk called "Bait and Switch."
This perk can increase the weapon's damage by 30%, allowing players to deal increased damage even without following the Surge modifier. Other perks, such as Relentless Strikes for utility or Vorpal Weapon for damage, further amplify the potency of this refined Sword.
4) Forbearance
While the perk combination of Forbearance hasn't changed much, it is currently far more accessible for newer players than before. The game is practically giving away one of the most powerful Raid weapons in the easiest way possible.
Forbearance is a Wave Framed Arc Grenade Launcher that can synergize directly with any Arc 3.0 build. Perks such as Chain Reaction and Unrelenting make this weapon an add-clearing machine in any activity. Newer players who do not own a decent Wave Framed Grenade Launcher should get the Forbearance from Onslaught.
3) The Mountaintop
Once hailed as the king of special Grenade Launchers, The Mountaintop returned to the Brave arsenal with different perks, leading to different usage. While this weapon was once capable of dealing a hefty damage number to bosses, the current version has a few more utilities with different roles.
The Mountaintop can still dish out increased damage numbers against powerful enemies. Perks such as Auto-loading Holster and Recombination make it possible to one-shot Champions and provide the option to not reload amidst intense fights.
Furthermore, The Mountaintop can currently be used to reach higher or further locations, making it easier for players to traverse through complicated jumping puzzles.
2) Midnight Coup
While Midnight Coup might seem like an average Adaptive Framed 140 Hand Cannon, it is one of the most powerful weapons for both PvE and PvP. This Hand Cannon is carried by its perk pools, as players can fit this weapon in any role in any activity. There are options to clear a room full of mobs with this weapon, and it has combinations to deal increased damage to elites and bosses.
Midnight Coup is a weapon that is easiest to get for newer players from Onslaught, and it carries the same potency as other powerful 140 Hand Cannons, such as the Palindrome, Fatebringer, Spare Rations, and more. Hence, if you are looking for Timelost Fatebringer from Master Vault of Glass, you can just attune Midnight Coup instead and run Onslaught.
While some stats do vary between an Adept and a standard weapon, Midnight Coup's perks are enhanceable, granting you maximum efficiency with minimum effort.
1) Luna's Howl
Luna's Howl is currently the easiest access to one of the best Solar Primary weapons in the game. It comes with the powerful combination of Heal Clip and Incandescent, something that is recommended for any Solar build for endgame activities.
Getting a Luna's Howl with the aforementioned perks will carry a player through any content in the game and continue to assist in the endgame. Luna's Howl can easily replace other primary Solar weapons, such as Perfect Pitch, Zaouli's Bane, Calus Mini Tool, and much more.
One of the primary reasons why Luna's Howl is considered in many builds is due to its accessibility. Both newer and veteran players can get the powerful weapon with ease, compared to other options in a similar category.
