German planes are some of the most well-known and loved in War Thunder. It is one of the game's biggest air trees, so you can choose from a wide array of planes. The models are all historically accurate, and many of them are good at their respective ranks. 1) Ju 87 D-5
The Ju 87 D-5 "Stuka" is a rank II, BR 3.3 dive bomber in the German tech tree, considered the best Stuka in the vehicle combat MMO. It's a slow-moving plane but compensates with powerful armaments.

Being a dive bomber, the Ju 87 D-5 can carry various bombs, like parachute, incendiary, and regular unguided bombs. But what sets it apart from its counterparts is its ability to carry either two multiple-barrel machine gun pods or two four-barreled 20 mm cannon pods. This makes it a formidable plane to face even in air battles and extremely dangerous to engage it head-on.
2) Bf 109 F-4
The Bf 109 F-4 is one of the best fighter planes in the game at its rank. It sits at rank III, BR 4.0. At its tier, it is perceived as the best German fighter plane, efficiently fighting almost every enemy it faces.
The Bf 109 F-4 has two 7.92 mm machine guns and one 20 mm cannon. It has great maneuverability and energy retention, making it efficient at turnfighting as well as boom-and-zoom attacks. It can also carry small bombs to destroy tanks in ground battles.
3) Ar 234 B-2
The Ar 234 B-2, or "Arado' B-2," is a rank V, BR 6.3 German Second World War-era jet bomber. At its rank, it's considered the best bomber in War Thunder due to its ability to drop bombs with near-perfect precision.
It is a great plane for ground battles as it can carry 250 kg, 500 kg, and 1000 kg bombs and is extremely maneuverable. It can get into steep dives and drop bombs from very low altitudes, making it quite hard to miss your target.
It is quite an easy bomber to control, but its only limitation is the lack of guns for defense.
4) MiG-21MF
The MiG-21MF is a rank VII, BR 10.3 supersonic jet fighter in the German air tree. Although it isn't the game's best MiG-21, its position at BE 10.3 gives it the ability to more efficiently counter its foes compared to other higher-tiered MiG-21s.
The MiG-21MF can carry various air-to-air and air-to-ground armaments, like the powerful R-60 air-to-air missiles and the S-24 unguided air-to-ground rockets. It is also equipped with a GSh-23L 23 mm cannon, which has a fire rate of 3400 rounds per minute. A nose-mounted radar facilitates enemy detection at long ranges.
The MiG-21MF is highly maneuverable plane and can hold its own very well in full uptiers and is an absolute nightmare in downtiers. It also has access to radar warning receivers and a chaff/flare pod to counter enemy missiles and radar.
5) MiG-29G
The MiG-29G is the leading top-tier fighter in the German tech tree. This well-rounded plane has excellent speed, maneuverability, and armaments. It is equipped with a 30 mm Gsh-30-1 cannon, making it highly accurate and quite deadly.
Its ground attack loadout is similar to that of the MiG-21, though it can carry more weapons. But its air-to-air loadout is where it shines. It can carry very powerful air-to-air missiles like the short-range R-73E and the BVR R-27ER1 semi-active radar homing missiles. It is also equipped with a considerably effective radar, which allows it to detect and lock targets at distances as long as 65 km.
The extreme thrust-to-weight ratio and high maneuverability make the MiG-29G excel at dogfights.
Various other German planes excel at their BRs, but these five are the best performers.
