The Ka-52 is a BR 11.7 attack helicopter in the USSR tech tree. It is equipped with a 30mm 2A42 auto-cannon, the same as the BMP-2, which can fire APDS projectiles at a rate of 546 rounds per minute. It can carry various air-to-air and air-to-ground weaponry, including the 9M39 'Igla' air-to air-missiles, and 9K127 'Vikhr' anti-tank guided missiles.

The Ka-52 gets access to thermal sights, which help it spot and acquire targets easily. Its defensive measures include missile approach warnings and flare/chaff pods. The Ka-52 is considered by players to be one of the most formidable helicopters in War Thunder.

2) EC-665 Tiger UHT

The EC-665 Tiger UHT is a German attack helicopter that sits at BR 11.7. It does not have any auto-cannons, but you have the option to equip machine guns by unlocking the modification. Its other armaments include ATAS air-to-air missiles, HOT 3 and PARS 3 LR air-to-ground missiles, and a couple of unguided rocket pods.

A unique advantage that the Tiger UHT has over many of its counterparts is the ability to engage targets from behind cover. It can do so due to its mast-mounted sights and the PARS 3 LR fire-and-forget missiles.

It also has access to thermal sights for easier target acquisition. It is extremely agile and nimble and has missile warning systems and chaff/flare pods to counter ground-to-air missiles.

3) AH-1Z

The AH-1Z is a BR 11.3 attack helicopter in the American tech tree. It comes equipped with a 20mm M197 cannon that can fire armor-piercing incendiary shells at a rate of 750 rounds per minute.

It has excellent air-to-air capability as it can carry either AIM-9L or AIM-9M air-to-air missiles, both of which are some of the best air-to-air missiles in the game. For ground targets, it can carry the AGM-114B 'Hellfire' missiles and various other unguided rockets.

Like most other high-tier helicopters, it gets access to thermal vision, missile approach warning systems, and chaff/flare dispensers. Many people consider the Apache to be the best American helicopter in the game, but excellent mobility and agility sets the AH-1Z apart from the Apache.

4) Z-19E

The Z-19E is a Chinese premium attack helicopter that is at BR 11.3. Like the Tiger UHT, the Z-19E does not come with an auto-cannon, but you can equip machine guns with modifications. It has a good selection of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, which include the Blue Arrow 9 (BA-9) air-to-ground missiles, the TY-90 air-to-air missiles, and various unguided rockets.

The Z-19E also has thermal sights, missile warning systems, and chaff/flare dispensers for defense, but the number of countermeasures it can carry is low compared to other helicopters in War Thunder.

5) Ka-50

The Ka-50 is a BR 11.0 premium attack helicopter in the USSR tech tree. It is the slightly less dangerous cousin of the Ka-52 due to the fact that it does not get access to thermal sights.

It comes equipped with the 30mm 2A42 auto-cannon with APDS shells and a 546 rounds per minute firing rate, the same as the Ka-52. It can carry the 9M39 'Igla' air-to-air missiles and the 9K127 'Vikhr' air-to-ground missiles, along with unguided bombs and rockets.

It has missile warning systems and countermeasures, but the lack of thermal sights makes it harder to acquire targets, especially at night. Despite this, the Ka-50 is a very reliable and dangerous helicopter.

There are numerous other great helicopters in War Thunder for you to play, but these five stand out from the crowd due to their excellent performances.
