Slapping enemies with a fish may seem like a joke at first, but once you start using this weapon, you'll realize this fish is no joke at all. The Northern Pike can deal incredible damage and can be very reliable.

This weapon can be unlocked by buying the blueprint from the vendor or fishing it from the sea. However, the reason this weapon comes in last on our list is the heavy price you pay for using it. The Northern Pike drains your sanity every time you use it, which is why using it constantly can severely affect you.

4) Long Axe

Where to find: The Blueprint can be found in crates in the wild.

The Long Axe is consistent, deals good damage, and is overall one of the most reliable melee weapons you can get early on in Once Human. The heavy attacks performed with this weapon have an increased crit chance, which further improves its overall damage scaling.

If you run a fortress warfare and build on your main, then this weapon will synergize very efficiently with your build. Getting the axe is pretty easy too. All you have to do is search crates in the overworld. However, compared with other weapons on the list, the Long Axe lacks damage potential.

Where to find: Blueprints can be found in various crates in the wilds.

If you are running a power surge build, then you can use this weapon with your eyes closed because there is no better option for you. The Stun Baton is incredibly effective in crowd control and can also deal good damage if used in a proper build.

The Stun Baton can also be used to complete various puzzles if you don't have access to EMP grenades. However, its dependency on certain builds for unlocking its full potential is why this weapon didn't rank higher on this list.

One of the most versatile weapons in the game. You can easily storm your way to the mid-game by just using this weapon alone (except for boss fights). The Baseball Bat can be used effectively in both PvE and PvP.

Its high attack speed and good damage potential make it one of the best melee weapons available in the game. The debuff that it inflicts on enemies with heavy attacks is a cherry on top. The only downside of this weapon is that it is not very effective against bosses.

An upgraded version of the Northern Pike, this weapon is absolutely terrifying. I know it's just a frozen fish, but it does pack a heavy punch. Not only does this weapon do incredible damage, but it can also freeze enemies with every hit.

If you are using a frozen vortex build, then this weapon will become a nightmare for enemies. Barely anyone has a chance against you if they are unlucky enough to be in melee range. However, just like the Northern Pike, the Frozen Northern Pike can also decrease your sanity when you use it, so be very careful when you're swinging it around.
