After you finish the tutorial in Once Human, you are teleported to a world teeming with Deviants, Great Ones, and an endless number of activities. You can explore, gather resources, build your base, catch Deviants to aid you in your adventure, or follow the main story to learn more about the world. While it's great to have so much to do in this weird sandbox MMO, many players might feel lost and overwhelmed by the sheer number of activities available to them.

As such, this article will mention five things to do first after beating the tutorial in Once Human.

Five things to do first after the tutorial in Once Human

1) Follow the Journey

After you finish the tutorial and enter the vast open world, you will see two quests on the top left of your screen. The first one will guide you through the main story, while the one below is the Journey, which will introduce you to the game's basic mechanics.

It will teach you how to maintain your Sanity and Health through resting in a bed, disassembling junk items to acquire essential resources, and even crafting a Garage to have your personal motorcycle. Prioritize these quests to learn and acquire all the essential tools you will need for your adventure.

2) Loot everything

As you follow the Journey system and unlock new blueprints in the Memetic tech tree, you will require materials that can't be directly obtained in this game's world. For example, Fireproof Plastic is an essential crafting ingredient in Once Human that can only be acquired by disassembling junk items at a Disassembly Bench.

Every item in the world, no matter how insignificant they seem, is useful once they are disassembled. So, loot everything while exploring the map.

3) Don't invest too many resources on your base

While building a base and crafting essential items is necessary, avoid investing too many resources in decorating or expanding your base early on. That is because it can significantly slow your progress.

Since you won't stay in the starting region for long and will soon move on to higher-level areas, it's better to save building a proper base for later. Focus first on making all the necessary items and advancing the story before dedicating time and resources to constructing a proper base.

4) Activate all Teleportation Towers

Teleportation Towers are marked on the map with the radio tower symbol, and activating them will allow you to instantly travel to different locations by spending Energy Link, the game's basic currency.

While riding your motorcycle and enjoying the scenic route is fun, you will eventually run out of fuel, which is a rare resource and hard to come by. As such, activating the Teleportation Towers can save you a lot of hassle and make exploring the world much more convenient.

5) Collect and use Deviants

While you are introduced to your first Deviant in the tutorial, once you finish it and enter the vast open world, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the new activities and forget about them.

However, Deviants in Once Human are extremely valuable for all aspects of gameplay, including base defense, farming, and battling strong enemies. So, prioritize crafting Isolated Securement Units to store the Deviants you collect. Additionally, synchronize your combat Deviant to your Cradle to use it in battles.
