7 best enchantments in Dungeonborne

Dungeonborne best enchantments
When exploring Dungeonborne, you're going to want the best possible enchantments on your Heirloom gear (Image via Mithril Interactive)

If you want to have a better chance of success in Dungeonborne, pack the right enchantments on your gear. Admittedly, this can take a lot of resources and grinding, and one size definitely does not fit all. We tried to find the most useful enchantments as a whole so that no matter what you’re playing, they might serve you well. Of course, there are enchantments skipped that are useful to almost everyone as well.

+Attribute and +Elemental damage are both very good and are noteworthy, but we wanted to focus on other Dungeonborne enchantments. Now that the game is in Early Access, players are starting to explore the dungeons of this recent fantasy dungeon crawler/extraction title.

Best enchantments to use on your gear in Dungeonborne

1) Skill Cooldown Reduction

Among Dungeonborne’s many enchantments, Skill Cooldown Reduction is one of our favorites. It allows players to use their skills with greater efficiency. Now, it’s not as great for every class - Rogues will get less out of it, for example. Their fights ought to be done quickly enough to get moving and get ready for another battle.

I can see Fighters having more use out of it, and perhaps spellcasters. Any chance to use an important attack or defensive ability again is something I’m a firm believer in. Regardless of the game, if I can reduce cooldowns, I’m going to.

2) Movement Speed

+Movement Speed is infinitely better than its counterpart, “Movement Speed in combat”. You’re basically always in combat in Dungeonborne, so flat Movement Speed is the superior enchantment, as far as we’re concerned. This boosts how swiftly you move, no matter what.

This one’s pretty self explanatory. Being able to get out of the way, or to get to loot quicker is a good thing to have on your side. It’s useful for every single class - I can’t imagine a class in this game that didn’t want to go faster.

3) +Defense

Whether you’re a squishy class or a tanky one in Dungeonborne, +Defense/+Defensive Levels is a great enchantment. The numbers we saw were a little on the low side, but it does add up as you go. For spellcasters, I feel like their gear doesn’t really have the defensive stats I’d want. So, stacking a little extra in one of your slots is not a bad idea - even if it’s just on your Orb or something.

The higher your defense level is, the less damage your opponent is dealing you. Even if they have an incredibly high Attack Level, if your defensive stat is high enough, you can start reducing their damage to a more manageable level.

4) +Life Regen Out of Combat

This is arguably our favorite - regen is always good (Image via Mithril Interactive)

I was torn, at first, between +Life Regen Out of Combat and some of the Life Steal skills, but honestly? Life Steal doesn’t feel worth it. When you’re packing 500+ HP, a +2 HP Life Steal on Hit/Kill is basically nothing. I can’t imagine too many encounters where that’s going to be a make or break for you.

While I did say earlier that you’d be in combat a lot in Dungeonborne, this enchantment will make those breaks from battle more worthwhile. Recovering without having to use healing items is a great thing. There’s not much health recovery in this game, so this is the best way to solve that problem.

5) +True Damage to Attacker on Block

When you block, they take damage. It's not quite Diablo 4 Thorns, but it's still nice (Image via Mithril Interactive)

This is another amazing enchantment, even if you’re a spellcaster in Dungeonborne. It’s better for melee, but if you pair True Damage to Attacker with Life Recovered on Successful Defense, it’s a very potent combo for casters. But what makes True Damage to Attacker great is that it bypasses any mitigation your opponent has.

It’s better for melee characters honestly, but I see the appeal elsewhere. If you’re dealing with plenty of characters that can block (Shieldbearers), then it’s time to give them something they can’t shrug off: True Damage.

6) +Life Recovered on Successful Defense

If you're going to play defensive, may as well get health out of it! (Image via Mithril Interactive)

Pairing Life Recovered on Successful Defense with other Defensive enchantments in Dungeonborne is a fantastic idea. As we said earlier, it’s less likely that you’re going to find times to heal, or even items to help you do so. This allows you to go on the defensive for a bit, and recover health safely.

It’s not one of the most powerful enchantments in the game, and you may not see massive numbers as a result, but I can see Life Recovered on Successful Defense being a useful addition to a wide assortment of Heirloom items.

7) +Max Damage Increase Stacks on Kill

If you want damage, this is the best enchantment (Image via Mithril Interactive)

While I couldn’t figure out 100% how +Max Damage Increase Stacks on Kill worked - as it didn’t seem to trigger every single time - when it’s working, it’s the best. When this enchantment is working as intended in Dungeonborne, you’re gaining more damage every time you kill something.

This is a much better damage increase than almost any other +damage enchantment you could put on in this PVPVE Dungeon Crawling extraction MMO. The numbers don’t lie, and this enchantment spells disaster for other players when you get a few kills under your belt.

Dungeonborne has a wealth of enchantments, and there’s something for almost every build. When it comes to the best picks, though, these are the ones we look for before any other in this PVPVE extraction MMO.
