Brewing Barrel is a very useful and important tool for you to have in Once Human. As you scour all around the map for materials and resources, the Brewing Barrel gives you the ability to farm Acid while also helping you quench your thirst by providing refreshing drinks. You can use it to ferment resources for getting the drinks and purify impure Acid.
This guide will let you know how to use a Brewing Barrel and what recipes you can use in it.
How to unlock and use Brewing Barrel in Once Human
The Brewing Barrel can be unlocked from the Memetrics tree. As it is a Tier 4 unlock in the Logistics category of the tree, you will need seven Ciphers, 2000 Energy Links, and the prerequisite unlock of the Integrated Kitchen Memetic to unlock this crafting station.
Upon unlocking the Brewing Barrel, you need the following materials to craft it:
- 50 Logs
- 20 Adhesives
- 20 Rubber
- 20 Aluminum Ingots
- 15 Acid
After constructing your Barrel, you need to use it. To do so, you need to connect it to a power source, like a Solar or Hydraulic Generator. You can go to your build mode to connect wires from the power source to the Barrel.
Once it is ready to start functioning, you need to put in Pure Water as a raw material along with another raw material, like Impure Acid or Wheat, to convert the raw materials into the finished product.
You can also connect the Barrel to an Osmosis Water Purifier, which will automatically purify Polluted Water into Pure Water and Impure Acid and place it in the Barrel.
All known Brewing Barrel recipes in Once Human
As far as food items go, you can use the Brewing Barrel to make four recipes:
- Malt Ale: 1x wheat, 2x Pure Water
- Corn Ale: 1x corn, 2x Pure Water
- Cheese: Milk, Pure Water
- Pickle: Cucumber, Pure Water
Note that the ratio for the Brewing Barrel is 2:1, so put in the raw materials accordingly. Also, you need to have Pure Water as a raw material for every recipe you use in the Barrel.
As mentioned before, the Barrel can also produce pure Acid. You need to put in Pure Water and Impure Acid as raw materials to make pure Acid. So, you can also make a passive Acid farm with the help of Brewing Barrels.
However, food can also spoil if you keep it in the Barrel for too long. Keep that in mind, because if you keep fresh food items in the barrel for a longer time than it needs to decay, you will also get Spoiled Food from the barrel.
