Warframe's Jade Shadows update added seven new weapon mods to the game, some of which can quickly become meta for specific builds. These are of two broad types: Cannonade mods that increase damage of semi-auto trigger weapons, and Elementalist mods that can strengthen elemental DoT ticks.

In this article, we will go over all of these new mods in Warframe, what they do, and how to get them.

Both Cannonade mods and Status damage mods drop from the Juna Sapper MOA enemy in Warframe. This Corpus unit can be found in the Ascension mission on Brutus, Uranus.

Each Juno Sapper MOA has a 3% chance to drop a mod on death. All seven of the Cannonande and Elementalist mods have an even chance to be this mod. The official Warframe drop table shows the following distribution:

Melee Elementalist
Uncommon (14.29%)
Semi-Pistol Cannonade
Uncommon (14.29%)
Pistol Elementalist
Uncommon (14.29%)
Semi-Rifle Cannonade
Uncommon (14.29%)
Rifle Elementalist
Uncommon (14.29%)
Shotgun Cannonade
Uncommon (14.29%)
Shotgun Elementalist
Uncommon (14.29%)

These enemies are quite common in the Ascension game mode. Taking any Warframe with a loot ability, such as Nekros, will give you good odds of collecting all of these mods within five runs of the Brutus node.

Cannonade mod fire rate restriction explained

Cannonade mods lock their weapon's modded fire rate to the base fire rate. Mods that manipulate the fire rate can still be installed, but the fire rate will remain unaffected. This can be beneficial in some cases. For example, if you use Semi-Pistol Cannonade with Critical Delay, you will only gain the positive benefits of the corrupted mod.

Cannonade mods can only be installed on weapons that only have a semi-automatic trigger. This excludes duplex-shot weapons such as Tigris, and weapons with toggleable fire modes such as Fulmin.

Can Cannonade mods be stacked with other damage mods?

Yes. Cannonade mods can be stacked with all other damage mods, as they are not variants of existing base damage mods. For example, Semi-Pistol Cannonade can stack with both Hornet Strike and Magnum Force.

However, due to diminishing returns, you should not invest these many mod slots into base damage.

There are a total of four Elementalist mods in Warframe, each increasing Status Damage for a specific type of equipment:

  • Rifle Elementalist: +90% Status Damage, +0.6 Punch Through
  • Melee Elementalist: +90% Status Damage, +60% Heavy Attack Wind-Up Speed
  • Pistol Elementalist: +90% Status Damage, +60% Reload Speed
  • Shotgun Elementalist: +90% Status Damage, +60% Magazine Capacity

These Status Damage mods are good for weapon builds that scale with DoTs such as Fire, Toxin, Gas, Electric, or Slash. Rather than increasing raw damage output, the damage bonus from Elemenalist mods only applies to the DoT ticks.

Faction damage multiplier mods double-dip, so they will remain meta for these weapons. However, since Elementalist mods are a separate source of damage amplification, they stack multiplicatively with faction damage boosts.

Specifically, Status Damage mods will be good for builds that use the fire-inherit mechanic.
