The Ark Survival Ascended Extinction update is here, and it has introduced a new wave of content for this popular online survival game. This new update features the Bob's Telltales 3 DLC featuring an art style that is somewhat inspired by the Mad Max movies, featuring vast wastelands, intimidating tribal cosmetics, armored dogs, and much more. However, this update also features new Engrams that can completely change your playstyle.
This guide highlights the new Engrams in ARK Survival Ascended Extinction, so you'll know what to expect from the new update.
What are the new Engrams introduced in ARK Survival Ascended Extinction?
Explosive Spear
You can unlock this weapon if you reach level 58. The Explosive Spear is a versatile weapon that combines the functionality of both a melee and a ranged weapon. When used as a melee weapon, it functions like a normal spear, allowing you to poke enemies with the left mouse button (LMB).

However, its true power is unleashed when thrown with the right mouse button (RMB), activating an explosive charge. The fuse burns based on how long the spear is held before throwing, and the explosion occurs either immediately upon impact or after a few seconds.
This explosion deals significant damage — 200 damage to metal structures and 1.5k damage to stone structures, making it a great cost-effective alternative to grenades.
Battle Rig Garage
Unlocks at level 50, the Battle Rig Garage introduces a massive new structure that allows you to build your own customized battle rigs. While it is quite expensive to build, you are given the freedom to create a unique vehicle that can be fitted with weapons and armor for combat.
Fire Extinguisher Grenade
The Fire Extinguisher Grenade is an essential new tool for PvP modes. It can be used to extinguish fires of all kinds. This grenade works quickly and efficiently, allowing you to deal with flames instantly.
It is particularly valuable when dealing with flamethrower-wielding enemies or taming creatures, especially Pyromane. The grenade will put out its fire quickly, allowing you to tame it. Its low cost and practical use make it a must-have in most combat situations.

BladeWasp Hive
The BladeWaasp Hive is a defensive turret designed to target only flying creatures. This turret is powered by honey and uses sulfur as its ammunition, making it an affordable yet effective method of defense against flying enemies. It unleashes a defensive swarm that inflicts a "Swarmed" debuff, causing damage to the flying creatures based on their health.
The more health a creature has, the more damage it takes. Additionally, any flying creature within the range of the turret will suffer a movement speed debuff, making it especially useful for stopping dive bombers in Ark Survival Ascended Extinction. It is most effective when placed on pillar bases and is a strong option for defending against air assaults.
Bio Grinder
The Bio Grinder is a powerful new structure that allows you to convert surplus creatures into valuable resources. It’s particularly useful when you have creatures that you no longer need or want. Simply feed the creatures into the grinder, and it will produce resources, food, or even kibble based on the creatures you use.
If a creature lays eggs, you can grind it down to produce the same kibble that would be made from the creature's eggs, saving you time and effort. This item is powered by gasoline and can be used for large-scale creature culling, such as turning sheep into hide in Ark Survival Ascended Extinction.
Makeshift Mega Lab
Unlocked at level 92, the Makeshift Mega Lab is a more advanced version of the chembench. Not only can it produce all the items that can be crafted in the basic chembench, but it also allows you to craft element shards, which are critical for powering other advanced structures.
The Mega Lab also has a unique feature, as it allows you to reset the levels on your creatures. By consuming element shards, you can reset the levels you’ve invested in your creatures, allowing you to redistribute them for different purposes.
Tribe Tower
The Tribe Tower is unlocked early in the game and can only be placed in the overworld, within your tribe’s territory. Once placed, the tower accumulates a stackable buff that increases over time. These buffs include up to 20% more experience, 20% faster taming speed, and 20% more elements from boss kills.
To power the tower, you need apex trophies like the Giganotosaurus heart, which fuels the tower for three hours in Ark Survival Ascended Extinction.
New Lights and Lamps
Extinction also introduces a variety of new lights and lamps. These new light sources allow you to decorate your structures.
These are all the Engrams that come with the Ark Survival Ascended Extinction update. You can make the most of the new update with these new items.
