Ashes of Creation is facing a lot of heat due to the Alpha 2 key prices and bundles. An upcoming Fantasy MMORPG being developed by Intrepid Studios, Ashes of Creation has gained a lot of attention from MMO fans, raising millions of dollars through its Kickstarter Campaign.
However, AoC was recently criticized due to its practices of raising funds. The game is currently in the testing phase, with Alpha 2 about to be released in the following months. The developers are utilizing the hype by selling access to Alpha 2 to players in the form of key bundles at a steep price.
Although the devs have confirmed that the prices will help them fund the game further, the community is still very upset about it. Due to the backlash, some changes have been made to the bundles. In this article, we share all the information we have so far.
Ashes of Creation Alpha 2 key bundle controversy and results
Initially, the devs had released three key bundles for Ashes of Creation Alpha 2: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The prices for these bundles are $120, $110, and $100, respectively. Previously, each bundle only provided access to the Alpha 2 phase of the game, the only distinction between the versions being that the higher tiers gave access earlier than the lower tiers.

The community was upset about paying such large sums of money, only to be given access to Alpha 2 and not the upcoming Beta phases of the game. Due to the severe backlash, the devs of Ashes of Creation have made some changes to the bundles. Although the prices remain the same, the items included in them have been updated based on community demands.
Now, in addition to Alpha 2 access, each bundle will also provide players with Beta One and Beta Two access, as well as a one-month subscription, which costs $15. They will also get $15 worth of in-game currency 'embers' that they can use to buy various cosmetics from the store.
