Gold is not something you'd think you need to farm in The First Descendant. The game hands out this basic currency like candy, as every other enemy drops them by the bucketloads. However, as you start grinding out weapon Adjustments to chase god-rolls, you will run into a Gold deficit fast. There will come a point where you'll need a fast and efficient Gold farm.
Gold drops from regular fodder enemies, so it stands to reason that the best mobbing hotspots will be the obvious options to try. We have tried all of these, and in this guide, we will go over what we found to be the best Gold farms in The First Descendant.

What is the best Gold farming spot in The First Descendant?
By our calculations, the best Gold farming spot in First Descendant is the Abandoned Refinery Unit mission in Echo Swamps (Abandoned Zones, Hard Mode). This is a simple and straightforward extermination mission, and you can expect to earn anything from 100k to 150k Gold per minute here.
The key to this is a specific route that you must master. Unlike most extermination missions, the monsters here spawn on a specific linear trajectory rather than in circles around an area. You have to hop over the ramps, enter a cave, and then go around the cave system.
If you learn the route well, this mission will be one of your best solo Gold farm options in The First Descendant. You would, of course, need a high-range Bunny build, making this mission one of the only few cases where Bunny outperforms Valby.
That said, it's easier in a squad. Even a two-man party makes it much more convenient to clear the mission within 30 seconds, netting you anything from 50k to 80k Gold per run.
Once you're done, make sure to hold down F2 to see the mission results page and then hold down R to Restart. This saves you some time you would otherwise spend running back to the mission start droid.

Best The First Descendant Gold farm in Normal Mode
If you haven't unlocked Hard Mode yet, there are some options to bulk-farm Gold in The First Descendant's Normal Mode too. For this, we had the best experience with Fortress Outskirts in White-night Gulch (Shipment Base). This also doubles as a great way to flash-farm Advanced Neural Circuits in The First Descendant.
Fortress Outskirts is one of the community's favorite farming spots for Kuiper shards as well, so you will more than likely get a public squad already running it. Turn on all four terminals at once and run around with your mobbing build of choice. The meta Valby run comp works perfectly here.
For your troubles, you are looking at 50k-70k Gold each run. The effectiveness of this will vary depending on the squad's size. A party of two or three Valbies can easily run this within three minutes, while solo players may need upwards of four minutes.
