According to Blizzard, the next WoW The War Within weekly maintenance patch - September 17, 2024 - will feature some trinket rebalance. Players have access to a long list of trinkets that will either get buffed or nerfed, depending on how they’re performing. This list specifically consists of those items which are either overpowered or not useful at all. Moreover, the developers have pointed out that they don’t want to do these types of fixes often - typically just within the first week of a new patch.
While there are items other than trinkets that need addressing desperately, the developers promised that they would look into them soon. For now, there’s a solid list of trinkets that are going to see some changes. However, this won’t change where they drop, as you can still find many of these in caches from Weekly Quests such as Rollin’ Down in the Deeps.
This article will take you through the changes, so you know what to expect when the patch drops.
WoW The War Within upcoming maintenance will rebalance several trinkets
According to Community Manager Kaivax, WoW The War Within’s trinkets will be rebalanced in the coming weekly maintenance patch. A long list of items will see some adjustments both major and minor. This is to prevent them from being too powerful or too weak.
The trinket rebalance patch will drop on September 17, 2024, so the changes will be implemented before the first Great Vault of the Season - where players gain powerful rewards for completing certain tasks in the world. It would be disheartening to receive one of these as a reward, and then get it nerfed the following week.
Given below is a list of every trinket that’s going to be rebalanced after the coming weekly reset in WoW The War Within:
Adjusted trinkets in the upcoming patch
- Ara-Kara Sacbrood - Primary stat reduced by 5%.
- Burin of the Candle King - Absorb increased by 15%.
- Cinderbrew Stein - Primary stat increased by 5%, absorb increased by 20%.
- Cirral Concoctory - Effects increased by 5%.
- Harvester’s Edict - Damage and Mastery effect increased by 5%.
- Mereldar’s Toll - Versatility effect increased by 8%.
- Overclocked Gear-A-Rang - On-use damage increased by 10%.
- Refracting Aggression Module - Absorb increased by 25%.
- Scrapsinger’s Symphony - Absorb increased by 15%.
- Shadow-Binding Ritual Knife - Primary stat reduced by 5%.
- Shining Arathor Insignia - Damage and healing reduced by 10%.
- Sikran’s Endless Arsenal - Damage effects increased by 5%.
- Spare Meat Hook and Bottled Flayedwing Toxin now correctly deal reduced damage for tank specializations.
- Spymaster’s Web - Intellect on use reduced by 5%.
- Swarmlord’s Authority - Absorb increased by 20%.
- Tome of Light’s Devotion - Absorb and Armor increased by 15%.
- Twin Fang Instruments - Damage increased by 8%.
- Viscous Coaglam - Effect increased by 5%.
Players might notice that this doesn’t address the trinkets that drop from the game’s Delves. Kaivax stated that they’ve received feedback about these as a whole and will be addressing it in a larger, “Delve-specific itemization sweep in the coming weeks.”
For now, the trinkets listed above will see some in-game changes, though these could be adjusted again somewhere down the line. The developers are also always open to feedback from players so it’s possible we could see these reverted or adjusted further.
