Black Desert Online has revealed the upcoming PVP 100, which will once and for all settle the discussion on who is the best PVPer in the game. Only the best of the best can take part in the PVP 100, which will begin at the end of August. Across three weekends, players will be pitted in intense PVP contests, where, at the end of the event, only one player will be left standing. The only way to win is to keep climbing.
While War of the Roses is a 600-person PVP event in Black Desert Online, the PVP 100 is a more prestigious, more challenging affair. It offers something players are scrambling for across this PVP MMO: Bragging rights to call themselves the best.
Black Desert Online announces August PVP 100 tournament
To take part in Black Desert Online’s PVP 100 Esports tournament, players need to have been in the top 100 of Arena of Solare, by the end of August 14’s ranked window. If you were in that block of people, then you would be able to compete. The tournament will run from August 31 until September 14, 2024.
Anyone who loses a round during these weekend challenges is eliminated. The only way to keep going is to keep winning. To make things even more interesting, the rules for each round won’t be revealed until the day of the event.
There’s a teaser that’s been given out for the tournament, but nothing further has been revealed. The only thing that is known is that for the Permadec challenge, players will need to be able to temporarily leave their guild.
- Round One (August 31): Challenge: Duel for Spot
- Round Two (September 7): Challenge: Permadec
- Round Three (September 7): Challenge: Keep your Friends Close
- Round Four (September 14): Challenge: Final Destination
Simply participating in the tournament will give all players 10 Gold Arsha Coins, and an in-game event title “PVP 100”. There are additional rewards for each round that you win and move on through.
The winner, on the other hand, will receive a custom-made PVP 100 Championship Belt, 100,000 Pearls, a permanent Glorious Arsha Weapon Skin, 3 Glorious Arena of Arsha Reward Boxes, and a Victor’s Diamond Ring. They will also receive an exclusive, in-game title to show they are Black Desert Online’s PVP 100 Grand Champion.
This feels like a genuinely exciting tournament for a game that’s so PVP-focused like Black Desert Online. With amazing rewards and a Championship Belt, it reminds me of fighting game events like CEO and its Championship Belt, or Dragon Ball’s World Martial Arts tournament. That said, the Black Desert Online PVP action kicks off on August 31, 2024, on the Black Desert Twitch channel.
