Blizzard is giving Diablo 4 players a free Legendary cache to compensate for its previous affix issues in its newest 1.5.1 patch. This new patch will be fixing some bugs and improving a variety of game performance areas like most normal patches, but with some more added too. Another aspect will include buffs to Aether obtained in Infernal Hordes. The patch is set to go live on August 20, 2024.

Diablo 4 Season 5 has been underway for a short while now and Blizzard is continuing to update and improve with new patches as it goes along. The upcoming patch 1.5.1 will be addressing issues from the previous patch as well as player feedback. Most of this feedback revolves around the new game mode introduced in the Season of the Infernal Hordes.

In this article we're going to go over how players can get this free Legendary and why Blizzard is giving it out in its new patch.

Blizzard recently announced that its upcoming Diablo 4 Season 5 patch will not only address game issues, but also give out a free Legendary cache. The reason for this is to make it up to players for issues it was unable to promptly solve in previous iterations regarding affixes. Players should receive this Legendary cache when they log in after the update has gone live.

Blizzard has stated that these Legendary items will have greater affixes on them when you receive them.

Other updates include making all Elite Infernal Horde offerings give more Aether when selected in a run. These options will no give a +2 Aether instead of +1 like they did when the game mode launched. Although ideally Blizzard would've been able to get the balance correct initially for this, it's good to see it iterating on player feedback that it has been receiving.

Blizzard will also be implementing some minor, but helpful, UI improvements in this update. Some of these include changes to group, clan, and chat functionalities. These will allow you to promote a leader while in a Diablo 4 online group, as well as change your clan name, and to re-organize chat tabs based on world tier.

Also getting introduced will be the ability to skip cutscenes in multiplayer games, which players were previously forced to watch while in a party. There are also going to be a slew of balance changes and minor reworks that should make some lesser used abilities and gear pieces more viable.
