The Scout profession in Brighter Shores is unlocked when you reach Hopeforest in Episode 2. This is the Guard profession but in a new a region. Once you transition from Episode 1 to 2, all of your gear and profession points will reset, so just like the guard, you will have to start from 0 and grind the levels once gained by killing mobs in the forest.
We share everything you'll need to know to start delving into the Scout profession in Brighter Shores.
What is Scout Profession in Brighter Shores?
Once you transition from Hopeport to Hopeforest, you’ll be outside the influence of the Hopeport Obelisk, which means you'll need to equip an entirely new set of weapons and armor. Unlike the Guard, try to pick your fights in Hopeforest, because it's much more unforgiving than Hopeport.
You also need to understand enemy behavior: orange enemies will remain passive unless provoked, while red ones are aggressive and will initiate combat if you get too close. Some enemies in Hopeforest have ranged attacks, making it harder to avoid combat compared to Hopeport.
Despite these new challenges, you still have access to the Immunity Spell, which is quite a useful tool for Scouts. This spell allows you to prevent combat encounters by casting it to escape battles if things don’t go your way. As you progress, you’ll find that the lower-level enemies are gradually replaced with tougher versions. So, get ready to run whenever you think the fight is too much.

How to level up the Scout Profession in Brighter Shores
The quickest way to gain levels in Scout is to defeat as many enemies as possible, as fast as possible. One important aspect of this strategy is constantly keeping an XP boost potion handy, which significantly enhances your experience gain. For making the potion for Hopeforest, you’ll need to gather some basic ingredients from the area, so always keep an eye out for them as you explore.
A major difference between the Scout and Guard professions is that, in Hopeforest, you’ll be required to join one of the three factions found in the Magic Cave. Each faction offers unique advantages against specific enemy types. However, these benefits come with a trade-off: joining a faction also gives you vulnerabilities to certain types of elemental damage.
Complete leveling guide for Scout profession in Brighter Shores
Level 0-5:
Start by hunting Ragged Outlaws at Forest Path and Forest Clearing for quick leveling. These enemies yield 205 EXP per kill and are easy to defeat, making them your best bet during the early levels. Once you reach Level 2, move on to Vagabond Goblins at Goblin Camp, which offers a moderate increase in EXP (221 per kill). These goblins are aligned with Infernae and are weak to Tempestae.
Like me, you'll also find plenty of loot as you clear the mobs on Hopeforest that you can use to easily exploit enemy weakness or if you have chosen Hammermage as your faction, you will get Tempestae infused in your normal attacks, making this grinding stretch a walk in the park. By Level 4, head to Bear Behind or Bear Clearing to hunt Grizzly Bears. They give 238 EXP per kill and are the perfect next step for reaching Level 5.
Level 5-10
At Level 6, make your way to Ivy Trail or Ivy Junction to fight Twisted Wendigos, which yield 256 EXP per kill. These creatures are vulnerable to Infernae, so take advantage of elemental weaknesses by equipping some weapons with this element. However, if you've chosen Guardian as your faction, stay clear from them as they can exploit your elemental weakness.
As you reach Level 8, head to Snakes Clearing or Snakes Path to face Common Vipers, which give 276 EXP. These creatures have vulnerabilities to Cryone. By Level 10, move to Treeway Trail or Treeway Junction to hunt Lean Spriggans, offering 297 EXP per kill. This creature's vulnerabilities to Infernae. They also pack a real punch, so try to have some healing potions on you.
Level 10-15
At Level 12, go to Rising Trail or Wooded Clifftop to take on Rotting Brambleliths, which give 319 EXP per kill. These creatures are immune to Arborae and vulnerable to Tempestae, making Hammermages once again a great choice for leveling scouts. When you reach Level 14, head to Twisted Road or Twisted Junction to fight Murmuring Shades for 343 EXP per kill.
Level 15-20
This stretch feels the longest. Try to have some Hopeforest XP boost potions on you for this one. They don’t last long but can reduce a lot of your grinding. At Level 16, return to Forest Path or Forest Clearing to face Disreputable Outlaws, who offer 369 EXP per kill. These outlaws are vulnerable to Arborae, but they have no immunity, so if you're like me, equip your biggest axe and hack away.
At Level 18, head back to Goblin Camp to hunt Warty Goblins, which provide 397 EXP per kill. These goblins are immune to Infernae and vulnerable to Tempestae, as usual, Hammermages can clean them easily. Finally, at Level 20, return to Bear Behind or Bear Clearing to fight Shambling Bears, which give 468 EXP per kill. Drink those XP potions and you will soon reach Level 20.

Getting loot and making money as a Scout in Brighter Shores
The Hopeforest zone offers plenty of loot, with frequent drops of weapons and armor, though their quality can vary. Prioritize equipment that enhances your Scout’s agility, such as lighter armor for improved dodge rates and ranged weapons like bows or crossbows to maintain distance from enemies.
Once you’ve gathered enough gear, head back to Hopeport to offload your excess items. The Quartermaster in Hopeport buys all the unwanted weapons and armor you collect, helping you get a steady source of money that can be used to purchase more potions and supplies. This cycle of looting and selling is the best way you can make money as a Scout.

How to survive in Hopeforest in Brighter Shores
Whenever possible, use the Immunity Spell and stealth tactics to avoid unnecessary combat, especially when facing red enemies with ranged attacks. Resource management is another key aspect of survival.
If you notice that you’re burning through potions too quickly, consider temporarily retreating to areas with weaker enemies to gather more crafting materials to make potions and kill the weaker enemies to possibly get better weapons. Keep in mind what faction you are in and ignore the enemies that can exploit your weakness.
