Brighter Shores offers different types of weapons and gear to pick, and some special ones that require tuning before use. Tuning is a feature of the game that allows users to tweak their gear which makes it usable. However, it is not available by default and you will need to complete a quest called The Obelisk to access the feature. Fortunately, the quest is quite straightforward and can be completed with ease.
This article will highlight the best way to complete The Obelisk quest in Brighter Shores.

How to complete The Obelisk quest in Brighter Shores
The Obelisk is one of the beginning quests in the game and can be unlocked quite easily. Once the tutorial is completed and you reach the main quest, you can roam about Hopeport freely and take up different missions.
This is when you should check your journal for The Obelisk quest. The first part of the objective will ask that you head over to the town gates and speak with the NPC (Non-Playable Character) Commander Hackett. You can reach this character by taking the side route and then climbing the stairs to the upper floor.
After completing the interaction, the NPC will provide you with two weapons that you need to take to the Obelisk and tune.

Here is a quick overview of the steps that you would need to follow to complete The Obelisk quest in Brighter Shores:
1) Finding Hopeport Obelisk
You can find the Hopeport Obelisk as it is present on the left of the Town Square, or to the south of Brannof Boulevard. However, a spike will be missing from the structure which is why you need to find it to make it work. The NPC present in this area will inform you about this and send you off to find the spike downstream.
2) Missing spike
You will be able to find the missing spike of the Obelisk in Wilhope Crossing. This area can be reached by traveling south from the Town Square and heading over to the Eel Street Bridge. Once there, you will need to go further south before turning to the east.

The crossing can be identified as it is a bridge over a small canal with pufferfish in it. The spike will be present on the edge which you need to pick up and head back over to the Obelisk.
3) Instruction tablet
Once the spike is delivered, the Obelisk is structurally complete, but it fails to work. This is when you will be provided with an instruction tablet that you need to understand. You will need to find Naybeth the Philosoper for this part of the mission.
This NPC can be found at the town gates of Hopeport. You will need to get to the philosopher’s house in the area and it is quite easy to spot as it is the only building in the area where you can enter. Once you speak with Naybeth, you will gain four different tablets, leaving you to figure out the rest of it on your own.
4) Activating the Obelisk
You will need to return to the Hopeport Obelisk and place down the four tablets that Naybeth provided on the stone pedestals. The instruction tablet will showcase the correct placement locations for all four tablets.
The best way to set the tablets correctly is to take a loot in the North direction present on the instruction tablet and match it while facing the Obelisk. You will need to face the Obelisk in a way that North is behind you.

The Obelisk will activate once you place all four tablets correctly. You will need to match the shapes with the instruction tablet and put them on the stone pedestals.
5) Finding Anjay
You will need to seek out Anjay’s help by traveling back to the training grounds. This is because the Obelisk can be fixed by a Cryoknight but its magic is suppressed. Once you interact with Anjay, you can head back to the Obelisk where a short cinematic follows showcasing the NPC removing magic restrictions from the Cryoknight.
This completed the activation of the Obelisk and you can now tune both the weapons that the Commander provided you with. Once you tune the weapons, you can head back to the Commander at the town gates to complete the mission.
