Critical Anomaly is one of the new Raid weapons from Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge. It is an Aggressive Framed Stasis Sniper Rifle that packs massive damage and utility perks in both columns. Players also have the option to use it against Guardians in Crucible, as it comes with PvP-focused perks as well. Note that Critical Anomaly is a Raid-exclusive weapon that can be crafted, allowing players to get any perk combination they prefer.

This article lists the best perks to have on the Critical Anomaly Sniper Rifle for both PvE and PvP.

Here is a list of perks recommended on the Critical Anomaly for PvE:

  • Arrowhead Brake for recoil direction and Handling on the weapon
  • Tactical Mag for increased reload speed and more Stability on the weapon
  • Redirection for auto-reload of the weapon up to double capacity
  • Bait and Switch for 30% increased damage from the weapon after damaging the same target with two other weapons in the inventory

If you want maximum Handling for the Bait and Switch perk, go for Quickdraw for quick-swapping the weapon. However, doing so will make you lose out on four extra 30% damage-boosted ammunition.

On the other hand, if you want to fire the weapon without having to reload it, go for the combination of Rewind Rounds and Triple Tap. But make sure to put in a bit of Stability in there with Polygonal Rifling and Steady Rounds.

Here is a list of perks recommended on the Critical Anomaly for PvP:

  • Fluted Barrel for increased Handling and Stability
  • Accurized Rounds for more Range on the weapon
  • Opening Shot for increased aim-assist and Range with the first ammo in the magazine
  • Snapshot Sights for increased ADS timer

Quickdraw is a great option to have instead of Opening Shot or Keep Away within the same column.

How to get Critical Anomaly Sniper Rifle in Destiny 2?

Critical Anomaly can be acquired as either a red border or a normal drop from the Salvation's Edge Raid. This weapon is tied to specific encounters, such as The Repository (3rd encounter), and The Witness (final boss). Once unlocked in Collections, there is a chance to get the weapon as a drop from either one of the two secret chests as well.

Players can complete the challenge associated with both encounters to spawn an extra chest at the end, increasing the chance to drop the weapon or its red border version. Accumulating a total of five red-bordered copies will guarantee a craftable version of Critical Anomaly.
