Dark and Darker is a unique medieval dungeon-crawling extraction game that features nine fantasy-inspired classes from which players can choose. Every class is unique in its playstyle and is designed to be playable in both solo and team play. However, some of these classes are specially designed to be more effective in one mode than the other.
Dark and Darker has a pretty steep learning curve. The initial commitment required to master a class demotivates many players, which leads to them uninstalling the game. So in this article, we have shared a tier list based on the classes' difficulty and effectiveness in both solo and party runs in Dark and Darker.

Dark and Darker tier list: Best solo classes
Dark and Darker features three dungeons, and each of these dungeons can be played solo or with a party. The tier list is divided into four segments, from S to C. The S-tier classes are not only easy to pick up but can also hold their own pretty well, while the C-tier classes are difficult to master and not very effective without a party composition.

Bard is the most versatile character class in the game, but due to its high difficulty, we had to place it in A tier instead of S. Warlock also has some difficult-to-learn skills, but this class takes far less time to master and use consistently than Bard. Warlock also has great solo potential, which is why it made it to the S tier.
The other A-tier classes are good in solo play, but they are either too squishy to take on strong enemies alone or have abilities that are more effective in party compositions. Druids are good and versatile, but not very effective in solo situations. Lastly, Clerics are just not well-suited for solo runs because most of their skills are designed for supporting allies.
Summarization:
- S tier- Easy to use and the best classes for solo play.
- A tier- Great choice for solo runs but are harder to master or less effective compared to the S tier.
- B tier- Good class but lacks abilities best suited for solo plays
- C tier- Class is the most effective in parties and should be avoided in Solo runs.
Dark and Darker tier list: Best classes for trios
Many believe Dark and Darker is most enjoyed when played with a party. While this opinion is quite controversial and subjective, we have to agree that some classes in the game are most effective when used in a party. In the following tier list, we have ranked each of the classes based on their effectiveness in a trio-party composition:

Each of the S-tier entries is amazing in any party composition. Wizard is a backliner that can cast devastating spells, while Cleric can be a great source of healing and support. Druid is very versatile in every composition and can act as both a support and damage dealer.
The classes in the B tier are good frontliners, but they don't have as much versatility or impact. The C tier is reserved only for Rogue, which you shouldn't pick if you are playing in a trio.
Summarization:
- S tier- Can be used in any party composition. Can carry most of the encounters if played right.
- A tier- Great frontliners and damage dealers but not very good in parties.
- B tier- Good survivability options but doesn't offer much in party compositions.
- C tier- Most effective in solo runs, should be avoided in party compositions.
