Destiny 2's Ghost Writer seal is back for players via the Festival of the Lost event. Like many other seals in the game, this event-exclusive title can be earned via standard means at first, followed by several gilding objectives to make it appear more grand. Note that the Ghost Writer title is also one of the four seals required for the time-limited "Reveler" seal.
This article lists all the objectives that must be met to get the Ghost Writer seal, alongside the tasks required for a player to gild it.
How to earn the Ghost Writer seal in Destiny 2

To obtain the Ghost Writer standard seal in Destiny 2, you must complete all 16 event challenges available in Festival of the Lost. To start, complete the introductory quest and then redeem the first challenge to reveal the rest. Once the rest of the 15 challenges have been unveiled, you are free to complete them in any order you would like.
Here is a list of all challenges:
- Bookworm I: Obtain seven pages from Tales of the Forgotten Vol 4. Each page can be obtained in exchange for Manifested Pages.
- Bookworm II: Obtain 14 pages from the Tales of the Forgotten Vol 4.
- Bookworm III: Obtain all 22 pages from the Tales of the Forgotten Vol 4. To access Tales of the Forgotten pages, look for a separate node beside Eva at the Tower.
- Heads will Roll: Defeat 100 Headless Ones within the Hainted Lost Sectors
- Horrific Haunts: Complete an Expert version of the Haunted Lost Sectors
- Candy Corner: Earn candies from activities. This can be anything. Note to equip a Festival mask while completing an activity, or defeating enemies.
- Mystery Meet: Purchase Mystery Grab Bags from Eva Levante. Tier 1 bag costs 650 candies, while Tier 2 bag costs 1300 candies.
- Third Shot's the Charm: Defeat enemies using Pulse Rifles. Defeating Guardians in Crucible or Gambit grants additional progress
- Blunder Boss: Defeat enemies using Shotguns. Defeating Guardians in Crucible or Gambit grants additional progress
- Pumpkin Peltin': Defeat enemies using Grenade Launchers. Defeating Guardians in Crucible or Gambit grants additional progress
- Occult Ritual: Complete ritual activities. This includes Strike playlists, Gambit, and Crucible matches.
- Hocus Focusing: Focus on an Eerie Engram. You can get one from Haunted Sectors, and bring it to Eva Levante for focusing.
- Masked Bandit: Complete Crucible or Gambit matches by wearing a Festival mask.
- Happy Haunting Ground: Complete Haunted Lost Sectors. Higher difficulty will grant increased progress.
- Ghost Writer: Complete all challenges.
Once all 16 challenges have been completed, you are free to head to the Ghost Writer seal via Journey and claim the standard version of the title.
How to gild the Ghost Writer seal in Destiny 2
Here are the objectives required for gilding the Destiny 2 Ghost Writer seal:
- One of Many: Complete Haunted Lost Sectors on all four locations: the Moon, Nessus, Europa, and EDZ.
- Masked Mayhem: Complete Raids, Grandmasters, Trials of Osiris rounds, or Dungeon by wearing a Festival mask.
- Deathless One: Complete Haunted Sectors in all four locations without dying.
- Sweet Tooth: Collect a total of 30,000 candies across every activity in the game.
