Haunted Sectors are the primary activities that players must participate in to celebrate the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost. Most of the currencies can be farmed from this specific location, alongside exclusive weapons, armor pieces, and a handful of objectives. Hence, it is important to get accustomed to the basics of the activity.
This article lists the basic mechanics of Haunted Sectors, alongside the overall rewards from completing objectives and the modifiers for the Expert version.
Basic mechanics and objectives of Haunted Sectors in Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2024
Here are the Destiny 2 Haunted Sector mechanics and objectives:
- Spawn in and defeat enemies to progress.
- Look for capture points. Stand on the points to summon a Headless One mini-boss.
- Once you defeat the first Headless One, the capture points will appear in more numbers simultaneously.
- Do this until you have summoned 10 Headless Ones in total. Kill all 10 to summon the final boss. Each Haunted Sector location will have different bosses.
Here's how the general rule works for defeating each final boss:
- Damage the boss until it has an invulnerable shield surrounding him.
- Look for capture points throughout the arena.
- Capture the points to summon Headless Ones. Kill the Headless Ones to drop Pumpkins from them.
- Pick the pumpkins up and throw them on the invulnerable boss to weaken it.
- Further damage the boss until it is dead.
Once the boss has been killed, you are free to loot the end chest. The reward drops can include exclusive Festival of the Lost weapons, alongside candies, and Manifested Pages.
Defeating a total of 30 Headless One throughout multiple runs of Haunted Sector will drop a random Pinnacle gear per character each week.
