Kell's Fall is the latest Exotic mission in Destiny 2 and the conclusion to the Eliksni story. It is also an integral part of the Act III seasonal questline, where players have to complete the entire tileset to progress. However, the mission itself is quite long and has two versions for players looking to get the Slayer's Fang Shotgun, its catalysts, or just a challenging experience in general.

This article lists the basic mechanics you have to engage with to complete the Kell's Fall Exotic mission on normal difficulty. Note that this article does not go over the details of getting the Slayer's Fang catalysts or the puzzles associated with them.

How to complete Kell's Fall in Destiny 2

Basic mechanics

The basic mechanics of Kell's Fall mission involve going through multiple shattered doors, collecting buffs, and defeating enemies.

At the start of the mission, you will encounter three Scorn enemies just standing in front of you. Take a right and follow the lights and ledges until you see a huge doorway. Here, the first boss fight will start, where you have to take on the Trickster. Simply drain her health to 70%, and the fight will end.

Enter the structure to encounter a Scorn piano at the end of the hallway. Then, take a left from the piano and then a flight of stairs on the right, leading to a door with a Cauldron.

Interact with the Cauldron to open the door and shoot a glowing stone to form a path. Here, you will encounter a shattered door for the first time.

Here's how this mechanic works:

  • Shooting the shattered door will open a path to a mirrored dimension.
  • The primary way to get out of a mirrored dimension is to find another shattered door inside the mirrored dimension.

In some of the boss fights mentioned below, you will encounter invulnerable enemies in your realm. Hence, your job will be to head to a mirrored dimension, defeat foes to get a buff, come back, and then beat the invulnerable enemies.

Additionally, the game will present a countdown timer when you're inside a mirrored realm, and you will die when it reaches zero. As such, you should either get out of the realm to reset the timer or complete the objective and make your exit.

Throughout the mission, you'll encounter three major boss fights that follow these mechanics.

1) The Mad Bomber boss

In the Mad Bomber boss fight, you will encounter two invulnerable Abominations in two corners of the arena.

Open the shattered door and head inside the mirrored dimension. Here, look for Dread enemies named "Revenant Essenci" and prioritize killing them for motes.

Pick up 10 motes for a buff called "Revenant Empowerment." Once you have the buff, return to the original realm and defeat both Abominations.

Now, the Mad Bomber boss will spawn. Try to damage him as much as you can while you have the buff. The boss has a very low health pool, so it is possible to melt him as a solo player using a Grenade Launcher or burst abilities.

2) The Mindbender boss

For the Mindbender boss, you will receive a debuff cooldown. Your objective is to enter the mirrored dimension first to start the fight and go through its three phases.

First, enter the dimension and drain the boss' health by 33%. Doing so will not affect the cooldown in any way, so you are still on the clock. However, you can trace your way back to the door you came through and re-enter the dimension to reset the cooldown.

For the correct path, take a left from the boss arena and go through the tunnel to find another door.

Enter the door to return to the original realm. Next, interact with three cauldrons to open the door to the boss arena and drain Mindbender's health by 33% again. Note that two cauldrons are inside the mirrored dimension, and one is in the original realm.

For the final phase, simply go through the final shattered door into the mirrored dimension and finish the boss off.

The countdown timer will still be active after you beat the boss, so be sure to exit the dimension.

3) The Hangman boss

After exiting the dimension upon defeating the Mindbender, you will encounter the Trickster while going up the stairs. This fight doesn't follow any mechanics, so take your time killing the boss.

In the final boss arena, you will see Fikrul attacking you while being invulnerable himself. Wait for him to chant a special attack and go through the shattered door into the mirrored dimension, where you will have the Refracting debuff countdown. Keep that in mind and collect 10 motes again for the "Revenant Empowerment" buff. Exit the dimension and wait for the Hangman to spawn.

Simply shoot the boss down to complete the Kell's Fall mission and get the Slayer's Fang Shotgun.
