Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge now has a Master difficulty with tougher enemies, additional Champions, and challenges for loot. One of the toughest Raid in the game just became more taxing with additional modifiers involving elemental Surges, threats, and additional Champions. Challenges, however, are one aspect of any Master Raid that can make things even more difficult for a fireteam.
On top of solving the existing mechanics, a fireteam must complete additional tasks that usually lean towards complicating an encounter. This article focuses more on the "Scenic Route" challenge associated with the first encounter of the Raid, Substratum.
Note that any mechanic related to this encounter will not be mentioned below. Readers are recommended to get accustomed to the mechanics first, and then attempt the challenge.
How to complete the Scenic Route challenge in Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge
The "Scenic Route" challenge requires players to defeat the second Overload Champion that spawns, followed by the first one. Meaning, that between the two teams, the first team that gets the Overload Champion needs to keep it alive until the second team kills their Champion.
This will keep the doors locked for the first team that gets the Overload Champion, and the second team must go through four rooms to spawn their Champion. In the end, the entire process will consume more time than usual runs, as the second team is pushing through additional rooms for their Overload Champion.
The term "Scenic Route" refers to the opening of all the doors to the rooms before defeating Overload Champions.

Tips to complete the Scenic Route challenge easily in Destiny 2
The current Surges for Master Salvation's Edge are Solar and Void. Hence, having a Sunshot or the Zaouli's Bane Hand Cannon is best for clearing groups of mobs and keeping an Overload Champion in check.
Always create two teams with three players in each. The first team to get the Overload Champion should keep it stunned until the second team has eliminated their Overload Champion. The first team, however, will also need to wipe out a lot of yellow-bar enemies that will hit harder in the Master Difficulty.
Solar or Void Machine Guns will prove to be quite useful in these situations. Weapons such as Fixed Odds with Incandescent, or the Commemoration and Hammerhead can deal increased damage due to the elemental Surges this week. Normally, any Heavy weapons that fit the Surges will work.
Microcosm is also a decent Heavy option as it will deal a lot of damage to Tormentors and Subjugators.
One additional detail to note for the first team here is to always kill the Hydra in the Overload room. This will open the doors for the second team, allowing them to go in and kill their Champion first.
