Bungie laid out its plans for Destiny 2's future as promised, via a few brief blog posts uploaded recently. One such blog reflects on a huge overhaul coming to the game's core, targeted towards activities and rewards. The development codename has been revealed to be "The Portal," and it is expected to bring in a separate screen for all activities, be it for Exotics, PvP, Pinnacles, or seasonals.
According to the developers, "The Portal" is supposed to be an easier way to access core game activities, such as Rituals and seasonals, all while getting the rewards tied to them. As a result, open-world maps will be 'cleaned up,' and they will be available only for exploration and a few older activities.

Destiny 2 is getting a brand-new section for accessing all activities
The main reason behind the development of Destiny 2 'The Portal' is to erase the current confusion that players can get while navigating through different planets. Without expert knowledge, it can become challenging to find objectives to do daily. The Portal aims to ease the difficulty that newer as well as some veteran players face while finding an activity.
Here's a list of options players can expect inside the separate screen of The Portal project:
- Solo Ops: One to three-player activities. Designed for solo players, and are easy to pick up and play for a quick session.
- Fireteam Ops: Three-player activities for matchmade or premade groups. Designed for fireteams with more cooperation and coordination, these will feature activities like Strikes, Onslaught, The Coil, and new types in the future.
- Flashpoint Ops: Six-player activities for matchmade or premade groups. Planned for a future Season, this category will be introduced later next year. It will feature more chaotic six-player combat-like Offensives.
- Pinnacle Ops: Three-player activities featuring more challenging content, including Dungeons, Exotic missions, and full-length Onslaughts. Pinnacle Ops has an exclusive reward pool to claim, but success is not guaranteed.
- Crucible: A selection of core Crucible playlists for solo players and fireteams, providing an opportunity to test your mettle against other Guardians. An exclusive reward pool is available to claim, with the same depth of tier as other Categories.
Activities in these categories will also get bonus rewards added to their pool, allowing players to target specific rewards such as Destiny 2 weapons, armor pieces, currencies, enhancement materials, and Strange Coins.
