Destiny 2 Solstice has changed a bit since the last year. Memento and Forge are the new implementations in the newest edition of the annual event, confusing several players on the main mechanics to get the loot. While getting the armor pieces can be figured out by the majority in the community, the mementos are hidden behind a core mechanic that can easily be skipped by many.

Furthermore, the Solstice memento's drop rate is currently bugged at the time of writing this article, as confirmed by Bungie. However, there is a workaround to get increased mementos to drop multiple times. This article will help you farm mementos from the Solstice event, and list fixes for the drop rate.

How to farm mementos in Destiny 2 Solstice?

To get the Solstice memento for the first time on your account, head to the Solstice Forge via the Quest tab. You can refer to the full Forge guide to get an idea of how to unlock each piece of armor using bounties and the currency. To summarize, you need 100 Alloys to get a quest for one piece of armor. These Alloys can be gathered by completing different tiers of bounties.

To refresh bounties, you need multiple Silver Leaves for one refresh.

Once you complete all five Ingot quests for the Solstice armor piece, a memento will be rewarded to your inventory. Furthermore, the "Celebrating Solstice" quest will be completed as well, and you will have glows on all five of your armor sets. For additional mementos, complete the golden-tier bounties from the Forge.

After getting your first memento, make sure to equip it on any one of your weapons, as keeping it in your inventory will affect your drop rate. More on the drop rate fix has been detailed below.

How to fix the drop rate of mementos in Destiny 2 Solstice?

Once you get the first memento, equip it on one of your weapons. The reason is if you keep one memento in your inventory, the game can't register any more free slots for additional mementos, and you can't get any additional ones from completing golden-tier bounties.

Hence, to fix it, simply equip the memento that you get from completing bounties, or the first quest, and then head on to complete additional bounties.
