Azurewrath is a unique one-handed sword in Diablo 4 that can only be used by the Barbarian, Necromancer, and Rogue. As a Unique item, it can drop from almost any activity.

To farm Azurewrath, you have to defeat level 85 or higher monsters on Nightmare difficulty (World Tier 3) or above.

Here are the best Azurewrath drop locations in the game:

  • Nightmare Dungeons
  • Helltide Chests
  • World Events
  • World Boss encounters for weekly rewards

While it is possible to get Azurewrath by killing monsters throughout Sanctuary or by opening small chests, the chances are very slim.

Therefore, you are recommended to complete Diablo 4's Nightmare Dungeons for the best chance of getting the sword. To further boost your chances, focus on targeting monsters such as Skeletons, Zombies, and Knights, as they have a higher drop rate for Unique Sword Equipment.

Keep in mind that only monsters from World Tier 3 and above will drop Azurewrath. You can advance from World Tier 2 to 3 by completing the Cathedral of Light Capstone dungeon. After you complete the dungeon, you must switch to Nightmare difficulty. By doing this, you can begin collecting powerful Unique items like Azurewrath.

In Season 1, only Barbarians could use Azurewrath. However, some changes have been made in Season 4 of Diablo 4 that now allow three classes, including Barbarian, Rogue, and Necromancer, to equip the sword, which specializes in freezing enemies.

Here are the Unique effects of Azurewrath:

  • Any Core Skills has a 20% chance of Freezing enemies for three seconds.
  • It deals 0.75 to 1.5 Cold damage after Freezing them. In order to successfully apply freeze, you need a lucky hit.

Thanks to its lucky Hit effect, Azurewrath is a great Unique item to maximize crowd-control effects.
