All six of the main Diablo 4 boss encounters have their own unique loot tables. This gives players a good idea of where they need to invest their time on certain characters if they want very specific Uniques to drop. Of course, this doesn’t guarantee that any of these will drop at any given time. In my experience, it’s worth picking a specific boss and grinding them. Whether you go alone or in a party, that doesn’t matter, either, thankfully.
Higher difficulty levels do help, though. When you’re deep into the Torment difficulty levels, the harder things get, the better chance you have of getting incredible Uniques for your various builds. If you want to know what bosses you need to farm, we’re here to help.
All Diablo 4 boss loot tables for Season 9
Whether you’re playing Spiritborn or Necromancer in Diablo 4, each boss has a loot table that will likely tempt you in. For example, Tal Rasha’s Iridescent Loop, one of the most desirable Sorcerer rings in the entire game, drops from Echo of Varshan. Could it drop elsewhere? Of course. But this boss’s loot table specifically lists it as a possibility.

However, before you start trying to target farm a boss loot table in Diablo 4, you should certainly keep in mind what materials you need to farm them in the first place. Below, you can find all the items you’ll need before you head towards these bosses.
You will also need to be on at least Torment I to fight these foes. There were some major changes made to the Boss Ladder system as well, in Season 8. In addition to new bosses, you no longer need items to summon the boss, but to get the loot from their chest at the end. Below is the current list of items you need per boss kill:
Initiate Tier
- Echo of Varshan: Malignant Heart x 12
- Grigoire: Livint Steel x12
- The Beast in Ice: Distilled Fear x12
- Lord Zir: Exquisite Blood x12
- Urivar: Judicator's Mask x12
Greater Tier
- Duriel: Shard of Agony x3
- Andariel: Pincushioned Doll x3
- Harbinger of Hatred: Abhorrent Heart x3
Exalted Tier
- Belial (Pinnacle Boss): Betrayer's Husk x2 (Dropped from Belial Ambushes after Lair Boss kills)
One common way to get summon materials is from the Seasonal Journey chests. Each level of these grants players a summoning crate. If you're hunting Urivar, The Undercity is another good way to get drops to fight him. You can use these to help target farm boss loot tables in Diablo 4. For the Intiiate Tier bosses, you can farm the items you need from a variety of endgame activities. For the Greater Tier, you need to farm the Initiate Tier bosses to get the loot items you need to crack open chests.
The best advice is to have plenty of summoning items for these Diablo 4 boss fights and go on the highest difficulty you can handle to ensure you have a better chance of getting something you want off the loot table. It can be stressful and frustrating, but it will all be worth it when that sweet item drops. Another way to make it faster is to bring a friend or use Party Finder.
Another change made in Season 8 of Diablo 4, is that boss chests can now also drop items from a general pool of Uniques, in addition to specific items per class. At this time, it's unknown what the General Pool contains, though.
Echo of Varshan (Malignant Burrow, Hawezar)
Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint (Hall of the Penitent, Dry Steppes)
The Beast in the Ice (Glacial Fissure, Fractured Peaks)
Lord Zir (The Darkened Way, Fractured Peaks)
Urivar (Fields of Judgement dungeon, Nahantu - requires Vessel of Hatred expansion)
Duriel, King of Maggots (Gaping Crevasse, Kehjistan), Andariel (Hanged Man's Hall, Kehjistan), and Harbinger of Hatred (Harbinger's Den, Nahantu - requires Vessel of Hatred expansion)
Interestingly enough, Duriel, Andariel and the new Harbinger of Hatred share a loot table in D4 Season 6. Another point to note is that while none of these loot tables feature Mythic Uniques, those can drop on any boss in the game. You just have to be lucky enough. The Pinnacle Boss, Belial will drop loot from whichever specific boss you wish.
Season 9, Sins of the Horadrim introduced a new set of Uniques, as did every season before it. The boss loot tables have been updated with where they drop. If you're looking for the powerful new Necromancer and Sorcerer Uniques, for example, you'll need to head into the Greater Boss Tier, but they're certainly worth it.
