In the recent Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Developer Update livestream, a major Mythic Update change was made. While everyone will have a much easier time crafting Mythic Uniques, people who get the expansion, Vessel of Hatred, will, according to the developers, be able to craft specific Mythic Uniques at a major discount. Unfortunately, players without the expansion won’t be able to take advantage.
That’s because the updated recipe for the D4 Vessel of Hatred Mythic Uniques requires Runewords. Since you can only access these in the unlocked expansion content, a chunk of the players will be out of luck here. Here’s what we know so far.
Mythic Uniques will be much easier to craft in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred
Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred are going to be easier to craft, making the grind far less frustrating for the majority of players. It’s a system that’s changed a couple of times over the last year or two, but this is likely the best change.
Instead of requiring four Resplendent Sparks, Patch 2.0 will make the new cost two Resplendent Sparks if you want to craft a random Mythic Unique. Since each character receives a Resplendent Spark for completing their reputation grind in the seasonal content, this becomes so much easier going forward. There are, of course, other ways to get Resplendent Sparks, though.
However, if you have two Resplendent Sparks and a trio of specific Runes, you can craft specific Mythic Uniques. Unfortunately, we don’t know which exact Runes this requires, but we will have a clear idea when Vessel of Hatred launches, and players have arrived in Nahantu.
Unfortunately, the way things stand, players who don’t purchase Vessel of Hatred cannot take advantage of purchasing specific Mythic Uniques. At least, that’s how things appear. Since the Runeword drops are expansion-specific, players will only be able to do this by buying the expansion. Blizzard could change this later, but at the moment, the only way is to get the Vessel of Hatred.
