Diablo 4: How to get The Third Blade and its unique effects

Diablo 4’s Barbarians have a wealth of great uniques, including The Third Blade. This incredible weapon is used in several high-end builds and can help you shred through enemies easily. However, like all Uniques, there’s no one specific enemy that drops it out in the world. While you can target farm certain bosses to increase your chances, you can also find this weapon randomly in the world.

If you’re going to run a Mighty Throw build, for example, you’ll want The Third Blade in your arsenal as a Barbarian in D4. Here’s everything we know about this incredible sword, and how you can make it yours.

How to farm The Third Blade in Diablo 4

The best place to farm The Third Blade in Diablo 4 is from the Infernal Hordes. Your best bet is to try and receive as a reward after defeating the Fell Council. Unfortunately, there are no specific bosses that we know of that can be used to target farm this item.

It's not surprising that the target farming occurs in the Infernal Hordes mode, as this season introduced both The Third Blade and the Infernal Hordes concept to the game.

You have a chance to find The Third Blade almost anywhere in D4 - boss drops, Helltides, anywhere that drops Uniques. However, the best target farm is from the Infernal Hordes mode itself. If you're doing this on the Seasonal server, consider using a Seething Opal of Equipment. While it won't increase your chances of finding uniques, it will enhance the overall drop rate for equipment,

What is the unique effect of The Third Blade in Diablo 4?

The Third Blade is a one-handed Unique sword introduced in Diablo 4 Season 5. It deals increased damage to Close Enemies (+65%) and adds more Vulnerable Damage, Strength, Weapon Mastery Damage, and Fury on Kill as baseline stats.

However, its Unique ability makes your Weapon Mastery Skills into Core Skills that have no Cooldowns, but instead cost Fury. They deal 50-70% of normal damage, and their Fury costs are reduced by 5 for any additional Charges the Skill would have had from the start. If your build wants to make the most of those Weapon Mastery Skills, you want to have this weapon in your arsenal.
