Diablo 4’s Party Finder system is for players who are tired of playing the MMO solo. While many players do prefer to work and grind on their own, that’s not always the case. I love playing D4 in a small party of friends, working together to slaughter the forces of evil. While in our review period of this recent expansion and season, we had a chance to party up to tackle in-game content.
This handy new feature lets players come together, using a series of prerequisites to find the perfect group for whatever they’re doing. If you aren’t sure where to find or how to use Party Finder in Diablo 4, let us help you get started.
How to utilize the Party Finder system in Diablo 4
You can access the Party Finder in Diablo 4 either via Shift+P on a keyboard, or by opening the map and pressing the right directional pad button on the controller. If you’re playing with a keyboard and mouse, you’ll still see Shift+P on the map section. Through the Party Finder, you can look for a group/start a group for the content you’ve unlocked.
There are several main tabs when trying to Find a Party in Diablo 4’s Party Finder system. There is Any, The Pit and Undercity. There will likely be a separate tab for Dark Citadel as well, but at the time of writing, I had not unlocked the new raid. When looking for “Any," you can select Dungeons, Open World Exploration, or The Pit.
Depending on what you selected, you’ll have an Activity Subtype. This allows you to specify the dungeon or open-world content you want engage with, as well as the difficulty, and whether it’s in the Base Game or in the Vessel of Hatred expansion. The Pit will have a Minimum/Maximum floor level you’re seeking to do, alongside other settings.
The Undercity tab is a bit more restrictive, since it’s only in the expansion, and there’s only one real entrance to tackle. However, the the difficulty range can be adjusted. All three of these sections also have a series of Labels you can apply. These are divided into Playstyle, Social and Game Play.
This lets you define the kind of group you’re looking for. Friendly to newcomers? You can select that here. You can also let people know how chatty you are (or aren’t), and if you’re looking for a carry or looking to farm content. It’s incredibly helpful to find the perfect group.
You can also List a Party in Diablo 4’s Party Finder. This also lets you pick between Dungeons, Open-world and The Pit, which expansion it’s in, and up to 8 labels. It’s an incredibly easy system to use, thankfully. While reviewing the expansion, we didn’t see any listed parties, but that was likely more due to the time of day I played.
There may be future changes to this system after it is released. Diablo 4’s Party Finder system lets people come together easier than ever - instead of struggling on public channels, you can just look for what kind of party you’re after.
