Diablo 4 Season 5’s Season Journey Cache guarantees an Ancestral Legendary with 925 Item power and two Greater Affixes - however, that hasn’t been the case in reality. After the Ring bug was hotfixed, another issue began cropping up. While it also has not happened to everyone, enough people have noticed it to begin complaining on social media. There are a few opportunities for players to guarantee themselves some seriously powerful gear, but wasting both time and resources for something that doesn’t drop is certainly frustrating.
While the “Season of Rings” ended relatively swiftly, this Diablo 4 Season Journey Cache bug is a greater cause for concern. Players who grinded to the end of The Mother’s Gift reputation and cracked their chests didn’t receive what they were hoping for. The same goes for people who grinded Infernal Hordes mode.
Diablo 4 developers are aware of Season Journey and Spoilers chests not dropping GA gear, and are “tracking it internally”
Overnight, quite a few players began to report Season Journey Cache issues in Diablo 4 Season 5. Players who were expecting a Unique with two Greater Affixes simply didn’t read the cache well enough. However, it is supposed to guarantee an Ancestral Legendary with 925 item power and two Greater Affixes. Ancestral Legendaries are the type of legendary gear that drops in World Tier 4, so it’s among the best pieces in the game.
This also goes for the Infernal Hordes chests that cost 60 Burning Aether and are supposed to guarantee Greater Affixes on at least one piece of gear. For those that don’t know, Greater Affixes are more powerful versions of the various effects and abilities that spawn on your gear. You can tell when something has Greater Affixes, as there is a red/white starburst next to those stats/abilities.
You can also see it when you copy it into a chat channel, where the starbursts appear next to the item name. However, since the hotfix, many players have been reporting this as an issue in their game. Thankfully, we at least know that Blizzard has heard the complaints, and is looking into it.
According to Adam Fletcher, Global Community Director for Diablo, the Diablo 4 team is looking into the Season Journey Cache/Infernal Hordes chests. They are tracking it internally, so fans are hoping to see some news and progress in the immediate future.
Currently, there’s no word on when or if a hotfix is coming, but the Blizzard team was fairly quick to act on the previous major bug. Once further information has come to light, we’ll update you so you know what to expect.
