Diablo 4 Season 5 has been dropping huge piles of rings, amulets, and off-hand items for many players across Sanctuary. While it isn’t happening to everyone, many players on Reddit have reported primarily getting Rings, Amulets, Focuses/Off-Hand items in their boss/chest drops throughout their adventure so far. Some have even reported not receiving legendary drops for non-jewelry slots until they go past level 45.
While this could lead to players getting some powerful Uniques early, it has caused some frustration for quite a few players. This season is going to be shorter than ever, as the first expansion looms. While many players have been happy, it hasn't been perfect for everyone.
Diablo 4 Season 5 is inundating players with mountains of Rings and Amulets
Redditor and Diablo 4 player t3khole is among many players who have been receiving tons of Rings and Amulets during Season 5. While it was harder to get these items in the previous Season the current scenario goes too far in the other direction. Redditors spent yesterday (August 7, 2024) talking about just how many rings and amulets they had picked up.
For many, Season 5 is “Season of Rings Reborn”, and it’s something I noticed too while playing Diablo 4 in my downtime. Whether it was my Crate of Chaos from the Tree of Whispers or fighting bosses, nearly everything dropped one or more rings. My Crate of Chaos in particular dropped 8 pieces of gear - all Amulets and Rings.
While I’ve at least been fortunate enough to pick up non-rings occasionally, it did take much longer than normal to start building out a set of gear I felt I could clear content with on my Barrage Rogue.
With some players, this has reached a point where they don't really have the materials to craft anything - unless it involves rings and amulets. Thankfully, Legion events still exist, and are a great way to farm materials for other things.
From Helltides to the Tree of Whispers, there are so many players reporting bulk drops of jewelry in Diablo 4. It’s unknown if there’s a hotfix coming, but players worldwide are certainly frustrated with how long it’s taking them to get anything that doesn’t go on their neck or fingers.
While this might be a bug since it is unlikely that Blizzard intended players to be this frustrated when it comes to finding gear. That being said, it’s not happening to every player - just to an inordinate number of them.
