After the resounding success of Season 4, many Diablo 4 fans are eager to know when Season 5 is going to begin. As good as Season 4 is, it will unfortunately be a bit shorter than the previous seasons. A week shorter than expected to be exact, as it is now confirmed to end on August 6, 2024.

Seasonal cycles are the lifeblood of Diablo 4, not only to renew player interest but also to make necessary switch-ups and improvements to its ARPG formula.

After the fundamental progression changes introduced in Season 4: Loot Reborn, we can't wait to see what Blizzard Entertainment has cooked up for the next season. However, all we know about Diablo 4 Season 5 for now is its start date.

Diablo 4 Season 5 goes live on August 6, 2024, the same day that Season 4 ends.

This seasonal transition date was announced even before the release of Season 4. Specifically, it was confirmed on the May 2 Campfire Chat, where the developers confirmed that Loot Reborn will have a shorter lifespan to make up for the hold-up with Season 3.

Technically, for Diablo 4 players who had also taken part in the Season 4 PTS, it will be exactly three months long - so we're on track with the average Season length.

For salarymen who moonlight as Diablo 4 players, Season 5 will unfortunately release on a Tuesday again, same as Season 4.

During the Summer Games Fest this year, Blizzard showcased some tidbits about Vessel of Hatred, the first DLC of Diablo 4 - including its release date. The update drops on October 8, 2024 - which is exactly 3 months and 3 days from the currently known release date of Season 5.

This means we will get the sixth Diablo 4 class, Spiritborn, alongside Season 6. Whether Spiritborn will be part of the DLC or available to all players is not known at this point. More information regarding this should become available on June 18.

While the new class might very well be part of Season 6, we do not know what the theme of Season 5 is yet. We will update this article as soon as any official information is teased about the upcoming Season, so stay tuned!
