Diablo 4 Season 6 is coming soon for players worldwide, and it will bring with it a mountain of updates and new features to take advantage of. From leveling adjustments, and item quality reworks, to a host of new class skills, there’s so much to be excited for when it comes to the next wave of content and updates for Blizzard’s Action RPG. Whether you’re looking forward to new Uniques or just the balance changes, Season 6 has more than enough for everyone.
Thankfully, players won’t have to wait very long, as Diablo 4 Season 6 is launching on October 6, 2024, along with the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred. While only players who purchase the expansion will receive the new content that comes with it, everyone will have access to Season 6.
Will Diablo 4 Season 6 coincide with the release of Vessel of Hatred?
Diablo 4 Season 6 will begin on October 6, 2024. At this time, we do not know the specific time, only that it will occur after weekly maintenance. This coincides with the launch of the expansion, but these are two separate content drops.
If you do not have the expansion, you cannot play as the new Spiritborn class, but you can tackle the new Season 6 content, and take advantage of all the amazing updates and balance changes that came with it.
What’s new in Diablo 4 Season 6?
With Season 6 of Diablo 4’s release, we’ll be receiving the massive 2.0 patch. There’s so much to look forward to. Perhaps one of the biggest changes is that the leveling system is being adjusted, so the level cap is now 60.
From there, it will feel more like Diablo 3, where players gained Paragon Levels, and stacked all those amazing powers like we’re already familiar with in D4. However all classes will receive a new Paragon Board, and Glyphs are leveled up by running through the Pit, instead of using an experience system.
The difficulty system is also being reworked, leaving the World Tiers behind, and changing to Normal, Hard, Expert, Penitent, and then Torment I-IV beyond that. The difficulty is being compared to Pit levels, so it will be fairly clear what sort of challenge players are going to get out of it.
Item levels are also being completely changed - no more everyone having 925s for everything. Sacred items are completely leaving Diablo 4, and Ancestral gear won’t start dropping until Torment I. These Ancestral items will always drop at 800 item level, which is the highest possible. They will also always contain at least one Greater Affix. It sounds like the game is doing a ton of rebalancing and adjusting to make it still powerful, but also fun for everyone.
All classes will get one new skill as well, which will build towards exciting new ways to play each of the game’s base classes. Alongside those will be five new Passives and plenty of balance changes. The biggest change of all, though, is Runewords.
That’s right, when the Diablo 4 Season 6 release date of October 6 hits, players will get access to Runewords - but only if they have Vessel of Hatred. That’s one of the few changes that is expansion-exclusive. Players will be able to farm Runewords and combine them on their gear to produce some truly powerful effects.
Do you want a Barbarian that can teleport or a Rogue that can Berserk? There are some amazing possibilities on the way. Between these features, a group raid activity, Party Finder, and so much more, Diablo 4 is going to feel like a brand-new game come October.
