Diablo 4’s Spiritborn is such a powerful class, and there are several possible leveling builds. Whether you want to focus on a specific Animal Spirit or spread your points throughout a few gameplay types, there are some phenomenal combinations to put together. While personally, I prefer a deep Centipede build for the pure power of poison, it’s not necessarily the best way to go. It’s sure fun, though!
Instead, we’re combining powers from Jaguar, Gorilla, and Centipede, to put together a serious damage dealer with a lot of survival capabilities. The best Diablo 4 Spiritborn leveling build relies on Stinger and Rock Splitter for damage, and a series of useful cooldowns to keep things going smoothly.
Gameplay strategy and point placement for Diablo 4 Spiritborn leveling build
Diablo 4’s Spiritborn leveling build uses Rock Splitter to build Vigor, and Stinger to spend it. You’ve got abilities to get in close, lots of damage, and plenty of survivability. Counterattack provides extra damage, and once a pack is injured, The Hunter shreds them to pieces. Moreover, Armored Hide is a great defensive button, but most of the damage comes from Stinger.
You use Rushing Claw to get close, Armored Hide for defenses, Counterattack for extra damage, and of course, The Hunter and Stinger for the rest of your damage in a protracted fight.
General rotation
- Rushing Claw, Armored Hide, Counterattack, The Hunter, spam Stinger/Rock Splitter as needed to spend/build Vigor.
We have provided the skill spread that you’ll be spending in the exact order below. This assumes you have all 71 possible skill points, from Renown and from leveling 1-60.
Which mercenary is the right pick for Diablo 4's Spiritborn?
Out of the four mercenaries you can unlock in Diablo 4, the best one for the Spiritborn’s leveling experience is Aldkin, Cursed Child. You can also use Raheir as reinforcement. For Raheir, you’ll want to connect his Crater skill to your Stinger skill, to get the most out of it. Meanwhile, you will want to go down the Haunt tree for Aldkin, picking these powers as you level him up:
- Haunt
- Terrify
- Field of Languish
- Paranoia
Personally, I'm also a fan of his chain attack since it keeps enemies nice and close while you're battering them. That's because I also ran fear abilities in my other leveling build. It's far from necessary, but if you find you like it, it's worth putting on your mercenary's ability line.
Spirit Hall Specialization choices
The Spiritborn’s Class Ability is the Spirit Hall in Diablo 4. You can pick a primary spirit at level 15, and a secondary at level 30 - once you’ve completed the class quest. In this case, you want the Primary Spirit Guardian Jaguar. It grants an additional strike every 15th hit of a Jaguar Skill.
This strike deals 15% of the damage you dealt the target in the last 0.5 seconds. To make this easier, all skills are now Jaguar Skills. Meanwhile, your Secondary Spirit Guardian is Gorilla. This helps gain more Resolve, and once you have at least five stacks of it, you are unstoppable.
Ideal Legendary Aspects to consider
There are a few things you should look out for as you’re leveling a Spiritborn in Diablo 4. These include Legendary Aspects, many of which are brand-new for the Spiritborn class. As you’re exploring the game, keep an eye out for these abilities, as they will serve you well in the Season of Hatred and the Eternal Realms alike.
