The First Descendant has a vast semi-open world to explore, full of objectives, loot, and combat against the Vulgus threat. With it being an online game, similar to the likes of Warframe and Destiny, fans could be wondering if developer Nexon has offered PvP (Player vs Player) multiplayer as one of the various gameplay modes.
Unfortunately, that is not the case as the game lacks any PvP content entirely. Here is everything players need to know about the possibility of such a feature in the future.
The First Descendant PvP multiplayer possibility explored
The game has been designed from the get-go as a cooperative squad-based shooter where players back up one another to thwart the alien forces attempting to destroy humanity; in other words, it is centered around PvE content where users can even drop in and out of missions.
From general gameplay to the Void Intercept raids, everything is centered around working together as a team. That said, what about the future? Surely updates on the horizon could bring PvP content to the table? With the co-op mantra being embedded so deep into the game's core design, this seems unlikely.
To top it off, there has been no word from the publisher or developers about such a feature that is in the works so fans should not hold out for it either.

What does the PvE gameplay in The First Descendant have to offer?
A large variety of objectives fall under this banner, from enemy base infiltration, capturing points against waves of foes, and even platforming challenges. This is outside of the standard story missions featuring extensive set-pieces to progress the game's sci-fi narrative.
Players can replay any completed mission or side content as many times as they want to farm rewards, including Gold, weapons, gear, and more. Sometimes they will also obtain research materials needed to craft a new Descendant or a super rare weapon.
While all the content can be tackled solo, we recommend playing with at least one more person since some content can be challenging with overwhelming waves of foes or powerful bosses. This way, they will have someone to fall back on who can revive them when downed.
The First Descendant is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
