The new PvPvE MMO Throne and Liberty has some incredible-looking armor sets, this has led many players to wonder if it will have a transmog system. Thankfully the developers have implemented an extensive system of transmog and gear appearance.

This type of system is very common in MMOs today and allows for players to apply skins over their equipped armor. Those who enjoy the aesthetic and collecting aspect of MMOs are particularly drawn to this feature and always hope for it in new titles. This will be a happy addition for Throne and Liberty in particular as it has impressive graphics and character creation. With this focus on looks and character aesthetics, it's no wonder NCSoft has created a way to customize appearances.

In this article, we're going to explain how the Throne and Liberty transmog system works, and how you can begin collecting new appearances for your characters.

As you'd expect of a transmog system, Throne and Liberty's version gives you complete freedom to apply cosmetics to override your equipped gear. These costumes can be purchased through the in-game store with Lucent, the title's premium currency.

The cosmetics come in various slots: head, body, and weapons. Each of them can be mixed and matched with others, or you can stick to the part of the same set for some intended thematic integrity. Moreover, you can also customize the colors of these cosmetics at will from the Mirror Boutique.

The visual alteration options for each weapon are only restricted to its class. You cannot, for example, use a Greatsword cosmetic on a Dagger to make it look like you have a Dagger equipped.

Since Throne and Liberty is free to play this transmog system may be one of their main intended sources of monetization. However, most players can eventually afford to buy some cosmetics, considering they can earn Lucent by trading with others on the Auction House.

By navigating to the main menu with the 'ESC' key (on PC), you can open the Mirror Boutique sub-menu. From here you will see your character in the center of the screen with several menu options surrounding them. Select the Costume option and you will enter the transmog selection system.

From here you will see a list of all the costumes that are available to be equipped on your character. By selecting one on the left side menu, you will see customization options appear on the right side of the screen. These options will allow you to select what colors to apply to your costume, as well as any available variations for the costume.

You can apply colors to multiple different dye channels of most costumes, meaning you can create your custom color scheme. This can be done to help certain costumes match weapons or Morph forms in Throne and Liberty. The variations also add flavor to your look by allowing things such as different hoods, masks, or ornaments onto your costume.
