Dune Awakening is Funcom’s upcoming MMORPG set in the world of the incredibly popular Dune franchise. Not only will this game bring the world from the legendary book series to life, but it is also the very first MMORPG that will be released with DLSS 4, the new Nvidia feature that can be found in the new RTX 50 series.
Slated for release in early 2025, Dune Awakening will have features like Multi Frame Generation, Razer Chroma, and Haptics Integration, all thanks to DLSS 4. In this article, we have shared everything we know so far about the DLSS 4 and its capabilities in Dune Awakening.
Dune Awakening set to make history by becoming the first MMORPG with DLSS 4
DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling, has been a core of NVIDIA’s AI-driven advancements in graphics since 2018. The latest iteration, DLSS 4, introduces a groundbreaking feature called Multi Frame Generation, which generates additional frames on top of rendered ones. This enhances performance, increases frame rates, and delivers smoother gameplay.
At CES 2025, Dune Awakening showcased the impressive capabilities of DLSS 4. Without DLSS, the game runs at 60-75 FPS in 4K on NVIDIA’s high-end RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs. With DLSS 4, Arrakis’ iconic landscapes, from its endless dunes to its twin moons, become as real as possible in a game. Additionally, DLSS 4 will support all previous RTX models, although older GPUs may not utilize all features.
Dune Awakening will incorporate Razer Chroma and Haptics Integration, which allows the entire gaming environment to react to in-game events. Chroma Lighting will also let you synch and transform your system lights to match the vibrant hues of Arrakis, such as golden sunsets or violent flashes of sandstorms. With Multi Frame Generation, you expect to get the highest possible FPS.
Dune Awakening is scheduled for an early 2025 release, although the exact date is yet to be announced. NVIDIA DLSS 4 will launch on January 30, 2025, and Dune Awakening will be part of its initial lineup of 70+ compatible games.
The game will be best experienced with NVIDIA’s RTX 5090 or 5080 GPUs and Razer’s advanced haptic devices for the full suite of immersive features.
