Dried Fur is one of Enshrouded’s more important resources when it comes to making certain early-game items as well as a few cosmetic pieces of gear. However, it does take a little exploring before you can start crafting up a bunch of this material. You can, however, start farming some of the resources you need to make it, such as Animal Fur — that’s the easiest part of all.
While you do need quite a few resources, and some time spent unlocking survivors like the Hunter, it’s definitely worth investing time into. Here’s how to start making Dried Fur in Enshrouded.
How to craft Dried Fur in Enshrouded
To craft Dried Fur in Enshrouded, you need a Drying Rack. This is something you can create once you’ve got the Hunter in your base. It’s a very easy piece of material to make as well — you only need 10 Wood Logs and 6 String to make it.
Wood Logs can be found almost anywhere. Chop down large trees, and you’ll have that in no time. While Moss-covered trees give Hardwood, most other early-game trees will give you Wood Logs.
If you need Animal Fur, just kill enemies that have fur! This includes Hophares, Wolves, Snow Leopards, and anything you come across that has fur. Just kill it and loot it, in hopes of getting fur. That’s simple enough. It didn’t drop for me as much as I’d like, but with enough patience, I had some.
Salt’s a little bit more difficult. Salt is typically mined from certain spots on the ground, as seen in the image above. If you head southeast of the first Flame Altar in the game, you can drop into that shrouded area to farm tons of Salt. This is the Saline Quarry, and while it’s dangerous, it’s filled with salt.
It’s highly recommended to know a quick way out or to have some defenses against the Shroud while you’re in there. You can also find an incredibly powerful staff in there, the Root Staff, in a golden chest.
Now just take 1 Animal Fur and 3 Salt, and you can make 1 Dried Fur. It takes a minute to craft and is worth taking the time to do.
What’s Dried Fur used for in Enshrouded?
Dried Fur is used in some comfort items for your home like Fur Rug, and is used in the cosmetic gear set Explorer Set. This one also uses Hardwood as well, so it’s worth having some. Additionally, you must have it to make your Glider. You also use Dried Fur to make the Adventurer Set, which is a decent set of equipment:
- Adventurer Boots
- Adventurer Chest
- Adventurer Trousers
- Adventurer Gloves
