The latest Warframe update, The Duviri Paradox, introduces two new game modes. The first one is the eponymous world of Duviri, the game's newest free-roam landscape. This mode is exclusively tied to the Drifter and ships with its own intrinsic system, as well as melee gameplay mechanics like parrying exclusive to Duviri.
The problem with these new open-world landscapes is usually the fact that they are content islands. That is, their subsystems, rewards, and resources tend to be fairly self-contained and decoupled from the main game.
Digital Extremes seems to not only have found the solution but also alleviate the grind locked behind other open-world factions like Fortuna. The second game mode in The Duviri Paradox is The Circuit, which takes the Warframe gameplay loop and mixes it with roguelite elements and worthwhile rewards for new and veteran players.
What is The Circuit in Warframe's The Duviri Paradox?
Once you beat The Duviri Paradox quest for the first time, all three of its game modes are unlocked and accessible from the top-right corner of the navigation menu. The Lone Story mode is quest-focused Duviri Spiral, i.e., one round of the Duviri quest that ends with beating the Orowyrm. The second one is the Duviri Experience, which is essentially the same, but with added side objectives that you can leisurely engage.
The Circuit, on the other hand, does not feature Drifter gameplay. This mode has you select a loadout from a randomized combination of armaments.
Booting into The Circuit will first put you in Teshin's Cave, where you will pick this loadout. The options available include Warframes and weapons that you own and loaner equipment that you do not own but can use with a default mod build.
The objectives
The actual Circuit then begins in the Undercroft, a sub-realm of Duviri. Here, you will be completing brief rounds with familiar Warframe objectives. This varies between:
- Defense of an objective against 5 waves of enemies
- One Survival rotation, i.e., 5 minutes
- Void Flood, completed by closing 5 ruptures
- Exterminate with a random amount of targets depending on squad size
- Excavation of 300 Cryotics, i.e., 3 full excavations
These objectives alternate between rounds, and players can choose to opt-out and extract at the end of each round. Moreover, completing each round will also provide the player with one Decree, a persistent individual buff that remains for the rest of the run. Note that there are also three additional hidden Decrees you can find in each round.
The rewards
Each round of The Circuit rewards you with 3x Drifter intrinsics, assorted Duviri-exclusive resources, and an incremental amount of Circuit progress. The first round awards 100 Circuit progress, the second 110, the third 125, and so on until it caps out at 170 per round from the fifth round onwards.
These rewards add to the actual Circuit tiered rewards. The first time you select The Circuit each week, you will be able to select your reward out of a set group of five. For the normal Circuit, this is a Warframe whose component blueprints will then be distributed across tier 2, tier 5, and tier 8 of the weekly Circuit reward.
For beginners and mid-level players alike, this is a time-savvy alternative to manually farming Warframe components. Some Warframes are much harder to farm than others, so you should choose your weekly rewards likewise. In no particular order or preference, you should keep an eye out for:
- Ash
- Oberon
- Baruuk
- Nidus
- Hildryn
- Octavia
- Harrow
- Ivara
- Khora
If you have Steel Path mode unlocked, the more difficult variant of The Circuit will alternately present Incarnon Genesis Adapters for five weapons each week, out of which you can select two. The first will be placed on the fifth tier and the second on the 10th tier.
