Steampunk Ascent is an update to the Bob's Tall Tales add-on pack released alongside ARK Survival Ascended Aberration, and it's jam-packed with new content. The original Bob's Tall Tales was an add-on released with the Scorched Earth map, featuring western-themed paraphernalia and a whole train system.
The Steampunk Ascent — otherwise known as Bob's Tall Tales Part 2 — outshines it in terms of content, ranging from a bespoke spotlight to create custom bat signals to a new spider shoulder pet that lets you web-sling through the caverns of Aberration.
Do you have to purchase ARK Bob's Tall Tales Part 2 (Steampunk Ascent) separately?
No, Steampunk Ascent is a free update to the Bob's Tall Tales DLC. In other words, anyone who purchases it for $29.99 (regional pricing may vary) will receive all the content that already came with it, plus all the fresh additions in Part 2.

Everything you can get from Bob's Tall Tales Part 2 Steampunk Ascent in ASA
The biggest highlight of Bob's Tall Tales Part 2 is Cosmo, a new shoulder pet that comes with "threat-sense, organic grappling, web-slinging, and shooting abilities." While not the most optimal way to traverse the treacherous depths of the Aberration map, this creature provides a great amount of flavor to early-game movement.

After the Oasisaur tame, this is the second creature in Ark Survival Ascended to be gated behind the Bob's Tall Tales addon. This is not all, though. Steampunk Ascent also comes with a Steampunk robotic butler. SIR-5rM8, a trusty robot voiced by Alan Tudyk, can automate various chores such as organizing items, repairing structures, and harvesting resources.
To match the trains from Part 1, the upcoming addition introduces Zeppelins, which can double as mobile airbases. Other than this, you get the following goodies:
3 Weapons and Tools
- Gene Scanner - A utility item for players with multiple functions, including detecting specific creatures, interacting with the Gene Infusion system, extracting traits, applying infusions to baby creatures, and harvesting embryos from pregnant creatures
- Goo Gun - Fires incapacitating and bouncy blobs of organic goo
- Stopwatch - A handheld time-traveling teleportation device

11 Buildable structures

To add to this list, you'll also get a steampunk-themed saddle skin for the Rock Drake featuring goggles. It functions as a regular saddle. More will likely follow a future map expansion release, which might bring Bob's Tall Tales Part 3. However, the same has not been confirmed at the time of writing.
