Fallout 76’s Spooky Scorched enemies show up every Halloween, and they’re incredibly valuable to track down. Belonging to the legendary variety, they’re remarkable if you want to grab exp and powerful legendary drops. However, the catch is that not only do they spawn in specific places, but it's not guaranteed, so you may end up making the trip for nothing. Naturally, farming these enemies does take a little effort, but it's worth your time without a doubt.
Even if you’ve never played Fallout 76, hopping on, trying the game out, and tracking down Spooky Scorched is easier than ever, with the game being free to play this week. The developers are celebrating Fallout Day by making it free-to-play, so it’s a great time to give this holiday event a whirl.
How to find Spooky Scorched in Fallout 76
One of the interesting things about Spooky Scorched in Fallout 76 is that they can appear anywhere a Scorched would normally spawn - with some exceptions. For example, you won’t see these in an instance, or Daily Ops. Moreover, there’s a tell-tale sign a Spooky Scorched is nearby since you’ll hear a spooky sound that gets louder as they get close.
While you can go anywhere on the map that spawns Scorched for a shot at finding the Spooky Scorched in Fallout 76, the route we take, when trying to find these creepy foes, has been detailed below.

Since Spooky Scorched are always legendary, they are guaranteed to drop at least one Legendary item. Given the changes to Legendary crafting in Fallout 76, Spooky Scorched is a high-value target, and one you should be tracking down while the Halloween event is in play.
Since Scorched can also pop up during events, you should also consider trying out some of the events that tend to have more Scorched enemies than others. These include Scorched Earth (and Scorched Horde Events), Line in the Sand, Distant Thunder, and Surface to Air.
Tracking these creepy creatures is easy since you just need to visit their potential spawn areas and roam around. Once you start hearing a spooky sound, follow it, as it grows louder. Before long, you should hopefully find a Spooky Scorched, and can immediately engage. Moreover, in addition to a legendary, they also drop Mystery Candy, and a Spooky Treat Bag, which can contain special event-themed items.
Apart from rewards from years past, you can also pick up these new items from the Spooky Scorched:
